American Kennel Club Puppy Training Pads, 22 x 22 in, 200 Count, Fresh Scent, 6-Layer Leak Protection

American Kennel Club Puppy Training Pads are fresh-scented indoor training pads for puppies and dogs, with a 6-layer design and a waterproof backing to help contain liquid.

• 22 x 22 in (55.9 x 55.9 cm) pads — provide a designated indoor spot for your pet.
• 200 pads per pack — keep training pads available for regular replacement.
• Six layers, including a quilted, tear-resistant top sheet — combine absorption with a leak-proof backing.
• Superabsorbent polymer (SAP) technology — absorbs and retains liquid to help keep paws dry.
• Three-in-one attractant formula — encourages your pet to use the pad.
• Fresh scent and an odor-neutralizing core — help manage unpleasant smells indoors.

These pads are made for puppies and dogs that spend extended periods indoors, and for households teaching a pet where to relieve itself. A consistent location and routine help your dog become familiar with the designated spot, while the pad’s absorbent construction supports everyday indoor use.

How do the pads help with indoor training?

The attractant formula is designed to entice, engage, and encourage your dog to use the pad. Place it in a confined area and bring your puppy or dog to that spot several times a day as they learn the routine. After your pet uses the pad successfully, praise and a treat can reinforce the behavior.

• Use the same verbal cue, such as “go potty,” when your dog begins using the pad.
• Bring your pet back to the designated spot promptly if they relieve themselves elsewhere.
• Move the pad gradually toward the door once your dog uses it consistently, continuing until it is outside.

What helps keep liquid and odor contained?

The six-layer construction pairs a soft, breathable top layer with liquid-locking technology and a waterproof backing. Its SAP core absorbs and retains liquid, while the quilted top sheet is designed to resist tearing. The odor-neutralizing core helps address unpleasant smells, and the fresh-scented design adds another layer of odor management.

• The soft top layer is made to be gentle on your pet’s paws.
• Replace soiled pads as needed to maintain the designated potty area.

How should I position a training pad?

Unfold the pad and place it in a confined area with the blue plastic side facing down. Keep the pad in a consistent location while your dog is learning to use it. Regularly guiding your pet to the same spot, including after meals, can help establish the routine; pets may need to relieve themselves more often when they drink more water in summer.

• Bring your puppy or dog to the pad several times throughout the day.
• Give praise and a treat after successful use to reinforce the behavior.

American Kennel Club Puppy Training Pads suit puppy owners and caregivers who need a defined indoor potty area for a dog that stays inside for extended periods. They combine an attractant for training with layered liquid and odor management. Their intended role is indoor potty training and containment, with consistent placement and routine as part of the process.
