• Detoxifies heavy metals in tap water — helps reduce exposure to these substances.
• Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums — use it across both aquarium types.
• Use during aquarium setup, water changes, and when adding fish — covers key times tap water is introduced.
• One 64 fl oz (1.89 L) bottle — provides conditioner for aquarium water treatment.

Tap water can contain chlorine and chloramines used to make drinking water safe, but these chemicals can harm fish. Exposure may irritate delicate tissue and damage gills, which fish rely on to take in oxygen. API Tap Water Conditioner is made to treat tap water before it is added to an aquarium, including during a new setup or routine water changes.

What does API Tap Water Conditioner do?

API Tap Water Conditioner removes chlorine, neutralizes chloramines, and detoxifies heavy metals in tap water. Treating water before it enters the aquarium helps reduce fish exposure to these tap-water substances. Chlorine and chloramines can irritate fish tissue, and high levels can damage gill tissue.

• Made for conditioning tap water before fish are exposed to it.
• Designed for aquarium use with aquatic animals.

How much should I use, and when?

Use up to 3 mL to treat 10 gallons (37.9 L) of water. Apply the conditioner when setting up an aquarium, changing water, or adding fish, so newly introduced tap water is treated for aquarium use.

• Use the same treatment purpose for setup water and water added during changes.
• Follow the product directions when applying the conditioner.

Can I use it in freshwater and saltwater aquariums?

Yes. API Tap Water Conditioner is suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums and is made for use with aquatic animals. Its use is not limited to a single aquarium water type, so it can be used when preparing tap water for either freshwater or saltwater fish.

• Suitable for aquarium setup and ongoing water changes.
• Useful when introducing fish to a treated aquarium.

This conditioner suits aquarium keepers who use tap water for freshwater or saltwater tanks and want to treat it before adding fish. API has created research-driven aquarium care solutions for over 50 years. The 64 fl oz bottle and concentrated dosing make it a fit for aquarium setup, water changes, and adding fish.
