Aquatic Foods Inc. 4-Type Sinking Wafers for Tropical Fish, 12 mm, 1/2 lb Mix

Aquatic Foods Inc. 4-Type Ultra Mix is a sinking wafer food for plecos, shrimp, snails and tropical fish, with four formulas in 12 mm (1/2 in) wafers and a 1/2 lb pack.

• Four wafer formulas in one mix — offers red color-enhancing, black worm, brown shrimp and green spirulina-algae varieties.
• Sinking wafer format — brings food down into the aquarium rather than keeping it floating at the surface.
• Designed for plecos, shrimp, snails and tropical fish — suits a range of aquarium inhabitants.
• Red wafers include astaxanthin, rose algae and paprika — ingredients used in the color-enhancing formula.
• Aquatic Foods sifts its wafers to remove most dust, pieces and particles — helping reduce loose food material in the pack.

This mixed-format food is for keepers who want several ingredient profiles in one aquarium food rather than choosing a single wafer variety. Its sinking form is made for fish and invertebrates that feed below the surface, with four distinct recipes to offer variety across suitable tank inhabitants.

What are the four wafer types in the mix?

The mix contains red Ultra-Color Enhancing, black Ultra Multi Worm, brown Ultra Multi Shrimp and green Spirulina Algae wafers. The recipes share a fish-meal and wheat-flour base in most varieties, while their additional ingredients distinguish each formula.

• Red: fish meal, wheat flour, krill, astaxanthin, rose algae, shrimp meal, spirulina, paprika, garlic powder, yeast meal, soybean meal, fish oil, calcium phosphate, vitamins and minerals.
• Black: fish meal, wheat flour, equal amounts of earthworm, silkworm, bloodworm, tubifex worm, white worm and mealworm, plus spirulina, algae meal, astaxanthin, garlic powder, yeast meal, soybean meal, fish oil, calcium phosphate, vitamins and minerals.
• Brown: fish meal, wheat flour, equal amounts of krill, red shrimp, brine shrimp, decapsulated brine shrimp eggs, mysis shrimp, plankton, daphnia, cyclops, rotifers and gammarus, plus spirulina, algae meal, astaxanthin, garlic powder, yeast meal, soybean meal, fish oil, calcium phosphate, vitamins and minerals.
• Green: fish meal, wheat flour, shrimp meal, spirulina, algae meal, brine shrimp, garlic powder, yeast meal, soybean meal, fish oil, calcium phosphate, vitamins and minerals.

What is the approximate nutritional analysis?

The four formulas provide different minimum protein and fat levels, with maximum fiber, moisture and ash values shown for each wafer type. These figures let aquarium keepers compare the recipes by their stated approximate composition.

• Red: protein 35.0% minimum, fat 5.0% minimum, fiber 4.0% maximum, moisture 6.0% maximum and ash 3.0% maximum.
• Black: protein 40.0% minimum, fat 5.0% minimum, fiber 8.0% maximum, moisture 6.0% maximum and ash 3.0% maximum.
• Brown: protein 40.0% minimum, fat 5.0% minimum, fiber 8.0% maximum, moisture 6.0% maximum and ash 3.0% maximum.

Which aquarium animals is this food for?

Aquatic Foods identifies this wafer mix for plecos, shrimp, snails and tropical fish. Its broader tropical-fish range includes cichlids, discus, angelfish, bettas, koi, tetras, goldfish, parrot fish, marine fish, axolotls, flowerhorns, gourami, loaches and catfish.

• The food is made for aquarium use with fish and invertebrates among the named recipients.
• The red recipe is the formula specifically identified as ultra-color enhancing.

How does the wafer format work in an aquarium?

These are sinking wafers, so they descend through the water instead of remaining at the surface. Aquatic Foods sifts its spirulina algae wafers and sinking foods to remove most dust, pieces and particles before they are sent out.

• Product photos may differ slightly in wafer color and size.
• Aquatic Foods & Blackworm Co. is a family-owned business led by third-generation aquarium hobbyists.

This assortment suits aquarium keepers feeding plecos, shrimp, snails or a mixed range of tropical fish who want four ingredient profiles in one wafer food. Its sinking format and distinct worm, shrimp, spirulina-algae and color-enhancing recipes make it a multi-variety option for feeding below the water surface.
