After surgery or an injury, dogs may need a barrier to reduce licking and biting at a sensitive area. This inflatable recovery collar is made for that role while offering neck support in a soft, donut-style design. Its shape is intended to provide protection without the blocked view associated with a traditional Elizabethan collar, so dogs can move through everyday activities with their sight clear.

How does the BENCMATE collar help protect a dog after surgery?

The inflated collar forms a barrier around the neck to help prevent a dog from reaching and licking or biting an injured area or surgical site. It is designed for use around wounds, rashes, and post-surgery areas. The soft outer material also provides a cushioned surface around the neck and can serve as a neck pillow for resting.

• Made to support protection during recovery from surgery or wounds.
• Designed to allow eating, drinking, sleeping, and playing while worn.

Does this dog cone alternative block a dog’s vision?

No. The BENCMATE inflatable collar is designed to leave a dog’s sight unobstructed, unlike a conventional cone that can block the view. Its inner air bag provides neck support, while the soft outer material forms the protective barrier.

• Donut-style shape sits around the neck rather than extending as a rigid cone.
• The collar is intended to provide protection without restricting the dog’s view.

How do you fit and store the BENCMATE Large+ collar?

Measure your dog’s neck circumference before choosing a size. Thread the dog’s everyday collar through the recovery collar’s inner fixation straps to help hold it in place, then adjust the hook-and-loop closure. Position the closure at the back of the dog’s neck to make it harder to bite.

• If the recovery collar feels loose or slips off, loop the everyday collar through it to help secure it.
• Unzip the outer cover to remove it; deflate the collar for compact storage.

The BENCMATE Large+ Grey option suits dog owners looking for a soft, inflatable alternative to a traditional cone during post-surgery or wound recovery. Fabric choices include a plush, soft-touch option for solid colors and a stretchy, scratch-resistant, non-stick option for colorful designs. The removable outer cover makes cleaning easier, and the deflatable design helps save storage space. Measure neck circumference for fit, and use the inner straps with the dog’s everyday collar to help keep the recovery collar positioned. It is a donut-style recovery barrier designed to protect access to injured areas while keeping the dog’s vision clear.
