Bathing can be a challenge when a dog’s coat is dry, matted or prone to tangles. This shampoo is designed for those grooming needs, including the longer coats of poodles, doodles, Yorkies and Shih Tzus. Its cleansing and conditioning-focused formula is intended for bath time across coat types, rather than for a particular breed alone.

How does BioSilk Silk Therapy Detangling Shampoo help with knots and dry coats?

It combines silk proteins and coconut oil to cleanse the coat, moisturize dry fur and help work through knots and tangles. The silk-infused formula is designed to make dematting easier during a bath, while helping leave the coat soft, smooth and shiny. It is also made to reinforce fur strength.

• Use it for coats that need cleansing alongside help with tangles.
• The formula is intended for both short-haired and long-haired dogs.
• BioSilk Silk Therapy technology is adapted from the original BioSilk Therapy line for people and reformulated for dogs.

Which dogs and coat types is this shampoo suitable for?

BioSilk for Dogs Silk Therapy Detangling Shampoo is suitable for puppies from 8 weeks of age and adult dogs of all sizes and breeds. Its pH-balanced formula is free from parabens and sulfates, and it is safe to use with topical flea and tick treatments. That makes it an option for regular grooming across a range of coat textures and lengths.

• Suitable for short double coats as well as long, silky or curly coats.
• Long-haired breeds such as poodles, doodles, Yorkies and Shih Tzus are among the dogs it is made for.
• For coat fit, consider whether your dog’s grooming needs include dryness, matting or tangles.

How do you use the shampoo during a bath?

Wet your dog’s coat thoroughly with warm water, then apply shampoo from behind the ears toward the tail, keeping it away from the eyes. Lather and massage it into the coat and skin, then rinse thoroughly. Following the rinse with BioSilk for Dogs conditioner or detangler spray can provide additional detangling and conditioning.

• Start with a thoroughly wet coat so you can distribute the shampoo over the dog.
• Work the lather through both coat and skin before rinsing it out completely.
• Keep the shampoo away from the eyes during application.
• For added coat manageability, the brand’s conditioner or detangler spray can be used after shampooing.

This six-bottle set is suited to dog owners grooming puppies aged 8 weeks or older or adult dogs, especially when dryness, knots or a long coat make bath-time detangling part of the routine. BioSilk for Dogs combines silk proteins and coconut oil in a dog-formulated, pH-balanced shampoo made for cleansing and coat care across breeds and coat types.
