Description
xBlue Ridge Fish Hatchery Blue Ridge Koi Fish Food is a warm-season growth formula for Koi and Goldfish, with 36% protein and a 14 lb (6.35 kg) bag.
- Large and mini pellets in one blend — feed juvenile and mature pond fish from the same bag.
- Floating pellets that soften within minutes — see how much fish eat and serve manageable portions.
- 36% protein for active growth above 65°F (about 18°C) — match feeding to warm-season water.
- Vitamins, minerals, and brewer’s yeast — support overall health and natural color.
- Blue Ridge Koi has served koi and goldfish keepers since 1958 — backed by three generations of family-run experience.
Keeping fish at different growth stages in one pond can make feeding more complicated when each size needs a separate food. This blend brings large and mini pellets together in one formula for juvenile and mature Koi and Goldfish. It is intended for active, warm-season feeding, with a temperature-based schedule to guide portions as pond water cools.
Can juvenile and mature fish eat the same food?
Yes. Blue Ridge Koi Growth Formula combines large and mini 3/16 in (about 4.8 mm) pellets, so juvenile and mature Koi and Goldfish can feed from the same blend. The mixed pellet sizes mean one bag can serve fish at different stages rather than requiring separate formulas by fish size.
- One blend for Koi and Goldfish
- Large and mini pellets in each bag
How should I feed it as pond water changes temperature?
Feed only what the fish clear in about five minutes, and adjust frequency to water temperature. Feed one to three times daily above 65°F (about 18°C), once daily from 50–65°F (about 10–18°C), and stop feeding below 50°F (about 10°C). The pellets float, making the feeding amount visible, and soften within minutes.
- Above 65°F: one to three feedings daily
- 50–65°F: one feeding daily
- Below 50°F: stop feeding
What does the warm-season formula provide?
This 36% protein blend is made for active growth when water is above 65°F. Vitamins, minerals, and brewer’s yeast support overall health and natural color in Koi and Goldfish. As water cools toward 50°F, the feeding guidance is to switch to Blue Ridge Cool Water Wheat Formula, also available in a 5 lb (2.27 kg) size.
- Floating pellets for visible portioning
- Pellets soften within minutes
- Cool-season follow-up formula: Blue Ridge Cool Water Wheat Formula
Blue Ridge Koi has been a family-run koi business for three generations, with experience dating to 1958. This food suits pond keepers feeding juvenile and mature Koi or Goldfish through the active warm season, with feeding frequency adjusted as temperatures fall. Its mixed pellet sizes bring different fish stages into one feeding routine, while the temperature guide clarifies when to reduce or stop feeding.
