BXI Blue Aquarium Glass Gravel, 2.2 lb Polished Smooth Colorfast Stones

BXI polished glass aquarium gravel is blue decorative substrate for fish tanks and creative displays, supplied in a 2.2 lb (approx. 1000g) pack with smooth 0.04–0.12 in (1–3 mm) stones.

• Colorfast, uncoated glass — keeps its blue color without a coating.
• Smooth polished edges — gives fish tanks and displays an even-looking stone finish.
• Non-toxic and aquarium-safe — made for fish, animals, and plants without altering aquarium water chemistry.
• Shines in water but does not glow in the dark — choose it for a reflective underwater look.
• 0.22 gal (0.83 L) of gravel — provides material for aquarium substrate and a range of decorative projects.

Small aquarium stones can add color to a tank while also working as an accent in plant displays, terrariums, and crafts. BXI’s blue glass gravel is made for freshwater and saltwater setups, including betta tanks, as well as uses beyond the aquarium, from vase fillers to bonsai and resin projects.

Is BXI glass gravel suitable for fish tanks?

Yes, the uncoated, colorfast glass stones are non-toxic for fish, animals, and plants, and they will not alter aquarium water chemistry. Their polished, smooth edges are intended to avoid chipped pieces. The gravel is suited to freshwater and saltwater aquariums, including betta fish tanks; rinse it before adding it to a tank.

• Rinse the stones with water 3–4 times before aquarium use.
• Avoid piling the gravel too high or placing it close to tank walls to help prevent harm to fish.

How much gravel do I need for a one-inch layer?

For a tank with length L and width W measured in inches, estimate the amount using L × W / 23 lbs for a 1 in (2.54 cm) layer. For example, a 10 in × 10 in tank requires about 4.35 lbs for that layer. The 2.2 lb pack is smaller than that example’s estimate, so use the formula to plan the quantity for your tank.

• The stone size is 0.04–0.12 in (1–3 mm), suitable for a fine-grained decorative layer.
• The example quantity is specific to a 10 in × 10 in tank and a 1 in layer.

What else can I use the blue glass stones for?

Use them as decorative fill for vases, potted plants, succulent planters, terrariums, fairy gardens, and bonsai displays. They also suit gardens, water fountains, birdbaths, candle displays, crafts, dioramas, and resin projects. In water, the glass reflects light, but it does not glow after dark.

• Suitable for both water-based and dry decorative projects.
• Blue glass provides a consistent color accent across plant, garden, and craft displays.

BXI glass gravel suits aquarium keepers looking for blue substrate and makers adding small glass stones to plant arrangements or decorative projects. It is intended for reflective color rather than a glow-in-the-dark effect, and its smooth, uncoated glass stones work across aquarium and non-aquarium displays.
