• 12-ounce firm-hand duck canvas shell — helps shield dogs during outdoor activity in cold and windy conditions.
• Water-repellent exterior — adds protection for wet-weather outings.
• Quilted liner and corduroy-lined collar — add insulation and warmth.
• Adjustable neck and chest tabs with loop-lined straps — help secure the coat for a comfortable fit.

For dogs that spend time outdoors in cold, windy or wet conditions, a coat needs to offer coverage while staying adjustable for movement. This insulated chore coat is made for active outdoor wear, including walks in cold weather and rainy conditions. Its Deep Wine color and workwear-inspired construction bring a practical jacket style to a dog’s outdoor layers.

How does the coat protect against cold and wet weather?

The firm-hand duck canvas shell is water-repellent and designed to help protect against wind and cold. The shell is made from 12-ounce canvas, and triple-needle stitching reinforces the main seams for outdoor use. Together, these construction details make the coat suited to active dogs facing changeable weather; the exterior is water-repellent rather than a substitute for a fully waterproof layer.

• Triple-needle stitching at the main seams.
• Firm-hand duck canvas exterior.

What provides warmth inside the dog coat?

A quilted liner and corduroy-lined collar add warmth for cold-weather wear. The coat is designed for dogs to stay outdoors and active in cold conditions, and its insulated construction is warmer than a traditional dog puffer jacket. A vent in the collar provides extra breathability and access through the collar area, combining warmth with a functional detail for outdoor use.

• Collar vent for added breathability and access.
• Deep Wine color.

How do I choose the right size and adjust the fit?

Choose Medium for a dog with a chest girth of 23–29 in (58.4–73.7 cm). The coat line also comes in Small for 17–22 in (43.2–55.9 cm), Large for 29–36 in (73.7–91.4 cm), and Extra Large for 36–46 in (91.4–116.8 cm) chest girths. Measure your dog’s chest and compare it with the range before selecting a size; the listed ranges meet at 29 in and 36 in.

• Improved neck and chest tabs support quick on-and-off use.
• Loop-lined straps adjust at the chest and waist.

The Carhartt Firm Duck Dog Chore Coat suits active dogs and owners looking for an insulated layer for cold, windy outdoor conditions, with a water-repellent shell for wet-weather wear. For the Medium, the key fit check is a chest girth of 23–29 in (58.4–73.7 cm); this coat is built for outdoor protection rather than indoor wear.
