• Waterproof, water-repellent exterior — made for protection in wet weather.
• Quilted liner and corduroy-lined collar — add warmth where the coat covers your dog.
• Loop-lined chest and waist straps with adjustable tabs — let you adjust the fit and take the coat on and off.
• Four size options with stated chest-girth ranges — help you choose a coat to suit your dog’s measurements.

Cold, wet and windy conditions can make outdoor time less comfortable for dogs. This chore coat is designed for active dogs that spend time outside in winter weather, whether on walks or during other outdoor activity. Its canvas shell, insulated lining and adjustable closures bring weather coverage and a customizable fit together in one dog coat.

What weather is this Carhartt dog coat made for?

The Carhartt Firm Duck Insulated Dog Chore Coat is intended for cold, windy and wet conditions. Its exterior is described as waterproof and water-repellent, and the heavy-duty duck canvas shell is designed to protect against wind and cold. The product description also positions the coat for rainy days and snow. A collar vent provides access through the collar and added breathability.

The coat is built for outdoor use, with triple-needle stitching on the main seams. Carhartt says its insulated design is warmer than a traditional dog puffer jacket; that comparison is a brand claim, not a temperature rating.

• Firm-hand duck canvas shell weighs 12 ounces.
• Triple-needle stitching reinforces the main seams.
• Collar vent offers access and added breathability.

How does the coat provide warmth?

The Carhartt dog chore coat combines a quilted liner with a corduroy-lined collar for added warmth in cold conditions. The insulation is built into the coat, so it is designed to let dogs remain active outdoors in colder weather. The collar lining adds coverage around the neck, while the quilted interior covers the body beneath the canvas shell.

The coat is intended for cold-weather wear rather than being only a lightweight shell. Its design brings together insulation and a weather-resistant outer layer for dogs heading outside in winter conditions.

• Quilted interior liner provides insulated coverage.
• Corduroy lining adds warmth at the collar.

How do I choose a size and adjust the fit?

Choose the Carhartt dog coat size using your dog’s chest girth: Small fits 16–21 inches (41–53 cm), Medium fits 22–28 inches (56–71 cm), Large fits 25–38 inches (64–97 cm), and Extra Large fits 30–45 inches (76–114 cm). Measure around your dog’s chest and compare that measurement with the stated range for each size.

The size ranges overlap for some measurements, so use your dog’s chest girth as the key sizing reference. Improved neck and chest tabs, together with loop-lined straps at the chest and waist, allow the coat to be adjusted and support quick on-and-off dressing.

• Small: 16–21 inches chest girth.
• Medium: 22–28 inches chest girth.
• Large: 25–38 inches chest girth.
• Extra Large: 30–45 inches chest girth.

This coat suits active dogs that need insulated coverage for outdoor time in cold, windy or wet weather. It is especially suited to buyers choosing by chest girth and looking for an adjustable dog coat with a canvas shell, quilted liner and corduroy-lined collar.
