The Carhartt Shock Absorbing Dog Leash is a training leash for dogs that pull, with a 6 ft (1.83 m) length, 1 in (2.54 cm) width and an elastic shock-control zone.

• Two handles at different points — choose a standard walking grip or take hold closer to your dog.

• Sliding slotted metal D-ring — lets you adjust where you attach an item or leash connection.

Training a dog that pulls calls for equipment that supports both everyday walking and closer handling when situations change. This leash is made for training sessions and outdoor walks, including moments in busy areas or when passing other dogs. Its Faded Fatigue color and multiple handling and attachment features make it a practical option for owners working through leash training with an eager dog.

How does the shock-control zone help when a dog pulls?

An elastic zone in the middle of the leash absorbs the jolt when a dog suddenly reaches the end of the lead. This helps reduce the snap load transferred to the dog’s neck and the owner’s shoulder and wrist, rather than passing the full force of the pull directly through the leash.

• The shock-control zone sits in the middle of the leash.
• The leash measures 6 ft (1.83 m) long by 1 in (2.54 cm) wide.

What are the two handles used for?

The top handle is for regular walking and carrying, while the lower handle lets you hold your dog closer when you need more control. The lower grip is positioned for busy settings, passing other dogs or making a training correction without first closing the distance to your dog.

• The top handle has a neoprene lining.
• The lower control handle sits closer to your dog along the leash.

How does the leash attach to a collar or harness?

A metal trigger claw clasp attaches to a collar or harness ring and is designed to operate while wearing gloves. An extra gated clip offers a second attachment style, including the option to connect through two rings at once. A slotted metal D-ring slides along the leash to provide adjustable attachment positions.

• Use the trigger claw clasp for quick attachment to a collar or harness ring.
• The extra gated clip provides an alternative connection.

What is the leash made from, and when is it visible?

The leash uses nylon webbing with a duck canvas weave for daily training and outdoor walks. Reflective triple-needle stitching adds visibility during early-morning and evening outings. Carhartt has made workwear-grade gear since 1889, and this leash is built to that workwear standard.

• Material: nylon webbing with a duck canvas weave.
• Visibility detail: reflective triple-needle stitching.
• Color: Faded Fatigue.

This leash suits new dog owners, experienced trainers and people adopting a dog who are working on pulling behavior. Its elastic zone, two handles and multiple attachment options support training and everyday handling in one 6 ft leash.
