Carhartt Universal Dog Barrier for Vehicles, Carhartt Brown, Breathable Mesh

The Carhartt Universal Dog Barrier is a vehicle divider designed to keep dogs in the back seat, with Rain Defender DWR-treated CORDURA nylon duck construction and dimensions of 22 x 34 x 3.5 in (55.9 x 86.4 x 8.9 cm).

• Made for cars, SUVs and trucks — creates a division between the front and back seats for dogs riding in the vehicle.
• Headrest buckles and seat-bottom attachments — secure the barrier in place and allow quick installation and removal.
• Open mesh panels — allow airflow and preserve visibility between the dog and front seats.
• Opening lower panel — gives access to the center console, cup holders, USB ports and gear selector.
• Cargo Series Hook-N-Haul MOLLE webbing — provides attachment points for compatible pouches and organizers.
• Machine washable, water-resistant construction — helps with cleanup after everyday use and muddy outings.

Dogs can make daily commutes and longer drives more enjoyable, but their movement into the front seat can distract the driver. This barrier is made for dog owners who bring their pets along in a car, SUV or truck and want a division between the front and rear seating areas without blocking the view through the cabin.

What is the Carhartt Dog Barrier made from?

It is made from CORDURA nylon duck with Rain Defender DWR treatment. The treated construction is water resistant and dirt resistant, and is designed to handle contact wear from everyday use. The barrier is machine washable, making it easier to clean after a trip with muddy paws or other mess.

• Rain Defender DWR treatment helps protect the barrier and seat from moisture, pet dander and contact wear.
• Carhartt has made workwear-grade gear since 1889.

How does the barrier attach inside a vehicle?

The Carhartt Dog Barrier mounts between the front and back seats, buckling around the headrests and fastening to the seat bottoms. Its dimensions are 22 x 34 x 3.5 in (55.9 x 86.4 x 8.9 cm); compare these measurements with the space where you plan to install it. Installation takes minutes, and the barrier can be removed just as quickly when the back seat is needed for passengers.

• Designed for use in cars, SUVs and trucks.
• Carhartt Brown color.

Can my dog see through the barrier?

Yes. The mesh panels let your dog see the front seats, while also allowing you to check on them in the rearview mirror. Their open construction allows airflow through the barrier, unlike a solid divider that blocks the view between front and back.

• Visibility in both directions helps keep the dog connected to the people in the front seats.
• Air can pass through the mesh panels into the back-seat area.

Can I reach the console and attach organizers?

Yes. The lower panel opens fully so you can reach the center console controls, cup holders, USB ports and gear selector without taking down the barrier. Cargo Series Hook-N-Haul MOLLE webbing also lets you attach compatible pouches, gear organizers and accessories directly to the barrier.

• MOLLE is a modular webbing system for attaching compatible gear.
• The system is also used on the Carhartt Seat Back Organizer and other Carhartt vehicle accessories.

For more complete interior coverage, the barrier can be paired with the Carhartt Pet Hammock: the barrier keeps the dog out of the front seat, while the hammock helps shield the back seat from claws and muddy paws. This Carhartt divider suits dog owners who travel with their pets in cars, SUVs or trucks and want visibility, airflow and continued access to the vehicle’s front controls. Its headrest-and-seat-bottom attachment points separate the seating areas while keeping the lower console accessible.
