ChokeFree Leather Pet Shoulder Collar, 23-Inch Metallic Bronze, Neck-Sparing Design

ChokeFree is a 23-inch leather pet shoulder collar designed to restrain a pet for walks without putting pressure on the neck or airway.

• Shoulder-wrapping, one-piece design — places restraint around the shoulders rather than the neck.
• Val-Lock closure with a D-ring and hook-and-loop — secures the collar without buckles or clasps.
• Leather construction with paw ornaments — combines the collar design with decorative paw details.
• Metallic bronze color — gives this 23-inch model its distinctive finish.
• Fit range of 8 to 28 inches in chest circumference — helps you assess suitability by measuring behind the front legs.

For pets that pull against a leash, pressure from a conventional neck collar or harness can press against the neck and airway. ChokeFree is made for walks where restraint is applied around the shoulders, offering an easy-on, easy-off alternative to conventional collars and harnesses. Its design is intended to help avoid choking and restraint-related neck injuries; it is not a treatment for a medical condition.

How does the ChokeFree collar avoid pressure on the neck?

The one-piece collar wraps around the pet’s shoulders instead of placing restraint pressure on the neck, forechest or airway. That makes it a shoulder-based option for walks, including for smaller dogs whose owners want to avoid leash pressure on the windpipe.

• Designed for use while walking a pet on a restraint leash.
• The shoulder wrap combines the simplicity of a collar with features of a harness.
• Its design aims to help reduce choking and neck-related restraint injuries.

How do I choose the right fit?

Measure your pet’s chest circumference just behind the front legs, then add one inch to that measurement to determine the correct size. The ChokeFree range accommodates chest measurements from 8 to 28 inches; this product is the 23-inch model.

• Take the measurement around the chest, not the neck.
• Use the measurement behind the front legs as the sizing reference.
• Choose based on the measurement plus one inch.

How does the closure work?

The Val-Lock design uses a D-ring placed through hook-and-loop material to secure the shoulder collar. This fastening system does not use buckles or clasps, and the collar is designed to be easy to put on and remove.

• Step-N-Wrap style for fitting around the shoulders.
• Made for straightforward on-and-off use during walks.
• Designed for use with Paw Rider.

ChokeFree suits pet owners looking for a shoulder-wrapping restraint in a leather, metallic bronze design, particularly when they want to avoid putting leash pressure on the neck and airway. Measure behind the front legs and use the one-inch adjustment to select a fit; this 23-inch model uses a shoulder-based design with a buckle-free Val-Lock closure.
