ChokeFree Pet Shoulder Collar, 13-Inch Non-Metallic Blue with Val-Lock Closure

ChokeFree Pet Shoulder Collar is a one-piece walking restraint designed to avoid pressure on a pet’s neck and airway, in a 13-inch (33 cm) non-metallic blue size.

• Shoulder-wrapping design — positions restraint around the shoulders instead of the neck.
• Patented Val-Lock closure — secures with a D-ring and hook-and-loop construction, without buckles or clasps.
• Leather construction with paw ornaments — gives the collar its stated material and decorative detail.
• Easy-on, easy-off design — makes putting on and removing the restraint straightforward.
• Chest-fit range from 8 inches (20 cm) to 28 inches (71 cm) — supports size selection by measuring behind the front legs.
• Designed for use with Paw Rider — provides a compatible restraint option for that product.

When a pet pulls against a restraint, pressure around the neck can affect the airway. ChokeFree is made for owners seeking a walking collar that places restraint around the shoulders instead. Its shape is intended for everyday walks and for pets whose owners want to avoid pressure on the neck, fore chest and airway.

How does the ChokeFree shoulder collar help during walks?

The one-piece collar wraps around the pet’s shoulders, rather than applying restraint pressure to the neck, fore chest or airway. This design offers an alternative to conventional neck collars and harnesses for walking on a restraint leash. It is intended to help reduce pressure-related choking and neck injury risks; it is not a treatment for a medical condition.

• Combines the simple one-piece format of a collar with shoulder-based restraint.
• Made for pets that may cough or struggle when pressure is placed against the airway.
• Its design focuses on avoiding airway pressure during restraint.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure your pet’s chest circumference just behind the front legs, then add 1 inch (2.5 cm) to that measurement to determine the correct size. The available fit range covers chest measurements from 8 to 28 inches, and this listing is for the 13-inch size.

• Use the measurement around the chest, not the neck.
• Compare the resulting size with the collar size before choosing.

How does the closure work, and what is it made of?

The patented Val-Lock closure uses a D-ring placed through hook-and-loop material to secure the collar. This fastening approach does not use buckles or clasps. The collar is made of leather and features paw ornaments; its listed color is non-metallic blue.

• Put-on and take-off are designed to be easy.
• The collar is intended for use with Paw Rider.
• Its shoulder-wrap format is the defining difference from a conventional neck collar.

ChokeFree suits pet owners looking for an easy-to-wear walking restraint that shifts pressure away from the neck and airway, with sizing selected by chest measurement. It is a 13-inch leather shoulder collar with a Val-Lock closure and a non-metallic blue finish.
