House-training, caring for an incontinent pet or making a familiar place to go during a trip can call for a pad that absorbs urine and helps manage odor. These charcoal pads are made for use indoors or outdoors, including travel and leisure time on a lawn. Their size and construction suit a range of pets, from puppies and adult dogs to cats and other small animals.

How do the charcoal pads absorb urine and help with odor?

Each pad uses six layers to move urine away from the surface, absorb it and help contain it. A perforated-film top layer lets liquid pass through quickly, while the activated carbon layer is designed to neutralize unwanted smells. The diamond quilting helps direct urine through the pad, and the polymer cotton core turns it into gel. The final two layers provide leak protection, with plastic backing as the outer layer.

• The perforated-film surface is designed to dry quickly and help reduce puddling and tracking.
• The polymer cotton core converts absorbed urine into gel.
• Activated carbon is included as a dedicated odor-control layer.

What helps keep urine off the floor?

A waterproof plastic backing and a plastic border around every side help keep urine from leaking out or seeping back through. The pad’s layered design is intended to protect carpets and floors during everyday pet use, making cleanup easier. Its surface is also designed to resist tearing during use.

• Liquid protection comes from the waterproof backing and all-around border.
• The top layer is made to pass liquid through to the absorbent layers quickly.

What size are the pads, and which pets can use them?

Each pad measures 28 in wide by 34 in long (71 x 86 cm), giving pets a broad area for training or care. The pads are intended for puppies, adult and elderly dogs, and dogs with incontinence, as well as kittens and cats. They can also be used for rabbits, ducks, squirrels, guinea pigs, birds and other pets being housetrained.

• Use them inside the home or outside, including during travel or leisure time on a lawn.
• Compare the 28 x 34 in (71 x 86 cm) footprint with the space where you plan to place a pad.
• The pack contains 30 pads.
