Cold, wet weather and low-light turnout call for a blanket that covers warmth, weather protection and visibility in one design. Nordic-Tough is made for mini horses and ponies, with construction intended for winter use outdoors and a soft, secure feel suited to wearing indoors in the stable. Its shape and fastening details are designed to help the blanket stay in place as your horse moves.

What weather protection does the Nordic-Tough blanket provide?

Its waterproof ripstop outer shell, 300g polyfil insulation and soft 210T lining form a three-layer design for winter turnout. The layers are intended to help keep a mini horse or pony warm and dry while allowing breathability. This is a heavyweight blanket built for harsh winter conditions, rather than a lightweight cover.

• The 1200D outer shell is made with ripstop fabric.
• Polyfil insulation provides the blanket’s 300g fill.
• The 210T lining forms the soft inner layer.

Will it help my horse stay visible during evening turnout?

Reflective panels across the body and reflective trim are incorporated to increase visibility in low-light conditions. These details are intended for turnout in pastures or paddocks when natural light is limited; they do not replace supervision or other safe turnout practices.

• Reflective detailing appears on both the body panels and trim.
• The visibility design is intended for nighttime or low-light use.

How does the blanket fasten and fit?

A contoured shape, adjustable neck straps and quick-clip double chest buckles make up the fit and fastening design. The shaped construction and soft lining help reduce rubbing or shifting, while reinforced hardware supports the fastening points. The quick clips are designed for easy use in cold weather, including while wearing gloves.

• Adjustable neck straps allow the neck area to be secured.
• Double chest buckles use quick-clip fasteners.
• Reinforced hardware is included in the fastening construction.

Can it be worn indoors, and how should I care for it?

Yes. The insulated, breathable construction is intended for outdoor winter turnout as well as indoor stable wear. To clean it, regularly brush away dried mud, hair, hay and debris; a stiff dandy brush often works well. For mud or debris that needs more attention, use a damp, soapy rag and wipe the blanket dry.

• Wash gently by hand in cool water with detergent made for horse blankets or a gentle animal-safe cleaner.
• Remove detachable parts before washing and fasten the hook-and-loop straps together.
• Avoid fabric softener, which can damage waterproofing and breathability and interfere with wicking water and sweat.
• Air-dry or line-dry; do not put the blanket in a dryer.
• Sew or patch any nick or tear promptly to help prevent further damage.

Nordic-Tough suits owners looking for a heavyweight winter blanket for a mini horse or pony, especially when turnout includes wet weather or low-light periods and the blanket may also be worn in the stable. Its 1200D waterproof ripstop shell, insulated three-layer construction, reflective detailing and adjustable fastening features bring those needs together in one blanket.
