Door Buddy Adjustable Cat Door Latch for Dogs, Grey, 0–6 Inch Opening

Door Buddy is a grey adjustable pet door latch that holds an interior door ajar for cats while helping keep dogs away from litter boxes and cat food, using a 3M adhesive strap.

• Adjustable strap with hook and latch — set the door opening to suit your cat.
• Designed to help block dogs up to 120 lb (54.4 kg) — keep pets out of designated rooms.
• Tool-free installation — attach the adhesive pieces to the door and frame.
• Works with bi-fold, sliding, pocket and double doors — adapt it to different interior door styles.
• Made in the USA by a small business — parent-invented and produced domestically.
• Strap, hook and latch included; door stopper not included — know what comes with this version.

Door Buddy offers a way to give a cat access to a room without cutting a cat door into the door or positioning a bulky pet gate. Use it to leave a controlled opening for a cat while limiting a dog’s access to a litter box, food area or other room. The door remains in place, and the adjustable strap lets you tailor the gap instead of leaving the door fully open.

How wide can I leave the door open?

The strap adjusts the gap from 0 to 6 in (0 to 15.24 cm), so you can set an opening for your cat or narrow the gap to help keep cats out. Choose the width based on your cat’s size and the access you want to allow. The strap flexes around the door, and the hook can be latched from either side for convenient access.

• Adjustable opening range: 0–6 in (0–15.24 cm).
• Use the adjuster to customize the door gap.

Which doors can Door Buddy fit?

Door Buddy is made for many interior door styles, including bi-fold, sliding, pocket and double doors. Attach the adhesive to the door and its frame, not to drywall. For dogs that push harder to get through, placing the latch on the back of the door can provide a stronger hold.

• Install on the door and door frame only.
• Do not install on drywall.

What comes with this cat door latch?

This version includes an adjustable door strap with a hook and latch; it does not include a door stopper. The adhesive installation needs no tools and takes seconds. The strap holds the door in a partially open position without requiring a cut-in pet door.

• Included: adjustable strap, hook and latch.
• Door stopper: not included with this version.

The 3M adhesive is not a permanent attachment, and how well it holds can vary with the surface, paint type and age, dog size and temperament. Door Buddy is designed to help block dogs up to 120 lb (54.4 kg), but results vary; it is not intended to withstand accidental forceful impact from adults or older children. For cat owners who want a customizable door gap without cutting a door or using a bulky gate, Door Buddy provides an adjustable strap-and-latch solution made for a range of interior door styles.
