FENCEMATE Small Dog Safety Harness, Adjustable Escape-Prevention Fit for 12–16 in Chest

The FENCEMATE Dog Safety Harness is a patented small-dog harness designed to help prevent fence escapes, sized for a 12–16 in chest girth (30.48–40.64 cm).

• Adjustable straps throughout — tune the fit around your dog.
• Step-in design with a buckle — makes it possible for your dog to enter the harness.
• Leash rings sit on top of the neck — position the harness as intended when putting it on.
• Attached FENCEMATE logo balls — form part of the fence-safety design.
• Balls can be cut off — the harness remains, but without them your dog can escape through fence gaps.

Small dogs can squeeze through openings in yard fencing, limiting their ability to explore the yard without being kept on a leash. FENCEMATE is made for toy, miniature and small dogs and is designed for use with wood, wrought-iron and metal fences. A correctly chosen size and adjusted fit are important to the harness working as intended.

How do I choose the right FENCEMATE size?

The Small size fits a chest girth of 12–16 in (30.48–40.64 cm). Measure around your dog just behind the front legs, passing under the widest part of the rib cage and over the top of the body. If the measurement falls between two sizes, choose the smaller size.

• Use a tape measure to measure the full circumference.
• Compare your dog’s measurement with the Small size range before ordering.

How does the harness help prevent fence escapes?

FENCEMATE’s patented design is intended to stop small dogs from squeezing through gaps in wood, wrought-iron or metal fencing. The attached balls are held in place with plastic zip ties; the design uses these connectors instead of metal connectors that the company found could rust or be uncomfortable for a dog’s hair.

• The fit is adjustable at all straps.
• Removing the balls also removes the fence-escape prevention feature.

How do I put on and adjust the FENCEMATE harness?

Open the buckle and let your dog step into the harness, with the leash rings positioned on top of the neck. Adjust every strap until the fit is comfortable while remaining secure. A harness that is the wrong size or not adjusted properly may not work as intended.

• The harness has a buckle for opening and closing.
• Adjust the straps after placing the harness on your dog.

FENCEMATE is from a US-based company, and the harness is made for owners of toy, miniature and small dogs who want their pets to explore a fenced yard with less risk of slipping through a gap. It is not designed to fit every dog; the Small size is appropriate when the measured chest girth is within its stated range and the straps can be adjusted securely.
