FURminator Grooming Rake for Dogs & Cats with Thick Coats, Rotating Teeth

The FURminator Grooming Rake is an undercoat grooming tool for dogs and cats with thick coats, featuring rotating metal teeth to work through dense fur.

• Removes loose undercoat hair — helps manage shedding during grooming.
• Helps detangle fur and prevent mats — supports ongoing coat care.
• Usable on wet or dry fur — fits different grooming routines.
• Ergonomic, non-slip handle — helps you maintain control while brushing.
• Made for convenient daily undercoat care — supports regular at-home grooming.

Dense coats can hold loose undercoat hair and develop tangles or small mats. The FURminator Grooming Rake is made for routine brushing at home, whether you groom your pet on its own or include brushing in a broader coat-care routine.

Which pets and coats is the FURminator Grooming Rake made for?

It is designed for dogs and cats with thick fur or dense double coats. Its rotating metal teeth move through dense fur to help loosen undercoat hair, detangle the coat with minimized tugging, and help prevent tangles and mats. The rake is intended for undercoat grooming rather than a general grooming tool for every coat type.

• Suitable for both dogs and cats.
• Best suited to thick fur and dense double coats.
• The teeth rotate as you brush through the coat.

Can I brush my pet with it when the coat is wet?

Yes, the rake can be used on either wet or dry fur. Brushing can be a grooming step on its own, so you can use it as part of your pet’s usual coat-care routine without pairing it with another product.

• Use on wet fur or dry fur.
• Brushing can also be done alongside a Detangling Spray or Shed Control Shampoo.
• Brush before using a deShedding tool to help remove tangles and small mats.

How does the rake fit into an at-home grooming routine?

The Grooming Rake can be used for regular undercoat maintenance as part of the FURminator Ultimate Hair Reduction System. That routine follows four stages: Brush, deShed, Bathe, and Maintain. The rake’s ergonomic handle has a non-slip grip to help you keep control during brushing.

• Use brushing as a convenient daily undercoat-care step.
• It can be combined with other FURminator grooming products as part of a complete regimen.
• The handle is shaped for an ergonomic grip and has a non-slip surface.

This rake is suited to pet owners grooming dogs or cats with thick fur or dense double coats at home, especially when undercoat care is part of a regular routine. Its rotating metal teeth, wet-or-dry use, and controlled-grip handle make it a practical choice for brushing dense coats and managing loose hair, tangles, and small mats.
