FURminator Medium Long-Hair Dog Undercoat deShedding Tool with Skin Guard

FURminator Medium Dog Undercoat deShedding Tool for Long Hair is a grooming tool for medium, long-haired dogs, with a stainless steel edge designed to remove loose undercoat and help reduce shedding by up to 90% with regular use.

• For dogs weighing 25 to 50 pounds (11.3 to 22.7 kg) — choose the size made for medium dogs.
• Stainless steel deShedding edge — reaches through the topcoat to remove loose undercoat hair.
• Reduces shedding by up to 90% with regular use — helps remove loose hair before it lands on household surfaces.
• Curved edge and skin guard — follow your dog’s shape while helping prevent the tool from digging in at the edges.
• FURejector button and ergonomic handle — release collected hair and groom with a handle designed for comfortable use.

Loose undercoat can end up on your dog’s coat, your furniture, and other home surfaces. This tool is made for targeted undercoat deShedding rather than ordinary brushing or combing: its edge passes through the topcoat to reach loose undercoat hair. FURminator recommends weekly use on dogs with double coats. When used as directed, the edge removes loose hair without damaging the topcoat or cutting the skin.

How does this tool remove loose undercoat?

The stainless steel edge reaches through the topcoat to remove loose hair from the undercoat. Undercoat deShedding is different from brushing or combing, and FURminator says this tool removes significantly more loose hair than a standard comb. Regular use is designed to reduce shedding by up to 90% and help keep the coat free of dirt and debris.

• Designed specifically to reach loose undercoat beneath the topcoat.
• Use on double-coated dogs as part of a weekly deShedding routine.
• Use as directed to avoid damaging the topcoat or cutting the skin.

Which dogs is the medium long-hair tool made for?

This medium-size tool is for dogs weighing 25 to 50 pounds with long hair. Its curved edge follows the dog’s natural build and shape, while the skin guard helps the edge glide over the skin without digging in at the sides. The weekly-use guidance applies to dogs with double coats.

• Size selection is based on the dog’s weight: 25 to 50 pounds.
• Made for medium dogs with long hair.
• Curved edge conforms to the dog’s shape for a more comfortable grooming fit.

What makes grooming and cleanup easier?

The ergonomic handle is designed for comfortable, easy grooming, and the FURejector button releases collected hair from the tool. Together, these features support the deShedding step in FURminator’s at-home grooming routine, which pairs daily brushing to detangle and smooth fur with weekly deShedding to reduce shed hair. The brand’s broader routine also includes monthly bathing to clean and deodorize, plus collecting and discarding loose hair as needed.

• Press the FURejector button to release hair with ease.
• Use the ergonomic handle while grooming.
• FURminator positions deShedding as one step in its Ultimate Hair Reduction System.
