Bulk bags of dry food can be difficult to keep protected and organized once opened. Vittles Vault is made for storing pet food and other suitable dry foods at home, with a sealed design intended to retain flavor while limiting access by pests. Its storage capacity depends on the food’s shape and density, so matching the container to the food is part of choosing the right size.

How does the Vittles Vault help protect dry food?

Gamma Seal Technology uses a threaded locking system and double gaskets to create the container’s sealed closure. This design helps maintain moisture balance and keep pests out, while helping lock in food flavor and odors. It is intended to help keep stored food fresh and tasty without claiming to extend its shelf life.

• The lid uses threads and double gaskets as part of the seal.
• The sealed design helps contain food odors.

How much food fits, and is the container stackable?

The container holds up to 40 lb (18.1 kg), and this 40 lb size can be stacked. The actual amount that fits varies with kibble shape and density, so weight capacity is a guide rather than a guarantee that every 40 lb bag will fit. For larger kibble, the manufacturer recommends choosing a container one or two sizes larger than the food’s weight would suggest; when uncertain, round up to the next available size.

• Only the 40 lb and 60 lb container sizes are stackable.
• Choose a size with the shape and density of the food in mind.

What can I store in it, and where can it be kept?

Vittles Vault is suitable for dry dog and cat food, birdseed, goat feed and human food. Its food-grade HDPE plastic is designed for safe food storage, and the container resists shattering and cracking. It is suitable for indoor or covered outdoor use, with climate-controlled storage recommended.
