GuineaLoft Model-A1 Acrylic Guinea Pig Cage, 4 x 2 ft, with Clear Hinged Lid

GuineaLoft Model-A1 is an all-acrylic guinea pig enclosure designed to house a pair, with a 4 ft (1.22 m) × 2 ft (0.61 m) footprint and 1 ft (0.30 m) height.

• Two access doors — open them for roaming or connect the enclosure to other cages with acrylic tubes.
• Modular C&C-style design — add panels or a second level to create a larger habitat.
• Steel brackets and screws permanently join the panels — the enclosure stays together when moved or cleaned.
• Two disposable bottoms and two mats are included — set up the disposable-bottom cleaning system without a permanent base.
• Acrylic walls help contain kicked-out bedding — keep more of it inside the enclosure.

Model-A1 is made for guinea pig owners looking for an enclosed habitat with clear sightlines, room for a pair, and a base designed around a simple replacement routine. Its all-acrylic construction gives the enclosure a clean, open look, while the covered top suits homes where a jump- and cat-safe enclosure is needed.

How much space does Model-A1 provide, and can it expand?

Model-A1 provides 8 sq ft (0.74 sq m) of floor space, and its modular panels can be joined to extend the layout. The 4 × 2 ft (1.22 × 0.61 m) C&C-style size is intended to give a pair of guinea pigs room to move. At 1 ft (0.30 m) tall, it stands 2 inches (5.08 cm) taller than Model A and Model A2. Its acrylic panels are twice the size of those used in those models, creating a layout with fewer seams and parts.

Expansion can be configured to suit the available space: join additional panels to make a 5 × 2 ft (1.52 × 0.61 m), 10 sq ft (0.93 sq m) enclosure, extend the shape, add a second level, or connect other cages with tubes.

• Choose a longer or differently shaped layout by adding acrylic panels.
• Use tube connections to link compatible cage spaces.
• Build upward with an added second level.

Does the enclosure have a lid, and can you see inside?

Yes. Model-A1 has an easy-open, hinged acrylic lid supported by four long beams, closing the top while keeping the interior visible. The fully enclosed design is intended to be jump- and cat-safe. Clear acrylic panels provide a panoramic view around the habitat instead of a view broken up by wire or grid panels. That visibility makes it easier to watch everyday movement and interact with your pets through the clear walls.

The larger panels also contribute to the enclosure’s minimal appearance, with fewer visible joins and steel accents. Its open, clear look is designed to sit comfortably in a living space while keeping the guinea pigs’ habitat in view.

• The hinged lid opens for access to the enclosure.
• Clear panels let you observe the habitat from multiple sides.
• The acrylic roof and its supporting hardware are part of the deluxe Model-A1 design.

How does the bottom make cleaning easier?

Model-A1 uses disposable bottoms rather than a permanent base. To change one, lift the enclosure, fold and discard the used bottom, then place the cage onto a fresh one. The included mats accompany the disposable bottoms. Because the cage panels are permanently joined with steel brackets and screws, routine cleaning does not require rebuilding the enclosure from loose grid pieces.

This construction also addresses a common issue with push-in clips used by traditional grid and wire cages: those clips can loosen over time. Model-A1 is designed as a one-piece enclosure that remains intact when lifted, moved, or cleaned. Good to know: a permanent bottom is not included; the supplied system uses disposable bottoms, and replacement refills are available.

• Use the lift, fold, discard, and replace routine to change the bottom.
• The included mats are part of the supplied bottom setup.
• Steel brackets and screws secure the joined panels.

Model-A1 suits guinea pig owners seeking a spacious, expandable enclosure with a clear view, a covered top, and a disposable-bottom cleaning routine. Its 8 sq ft footprint is designed for a pair, while the modular panels allow the habitat to grow beyond its original layout.
