This pet door is made for households that want pets to move between spaces without relying on someone to open the door each time. Use it for a route between indoors and a yard, between rooms, or at a garage or porch entrance. The controlled access panel lets you set the opening for your household’s needs, while the flap closes back toward the center after a pet passes through.

Will the Medium pet door fit my pet?

The Medium model has a flexible flap measuring 12.6 x 8.66 in (32 x 22 cm) and is intended for dogs up to 42 lb (19.1 kg). Its outer frame measures 15.75 x 11.61 in (40 x 29.5 cm), a useful measurement when planning the installation opening. Measure your pet’s height and width, then add an inch to help assess the flap fit. Hakuna Pets also gives size options across its range: Small has a 6.9 x 9.5 in flap for pets up to 20 lb; Large has an 11.4 x 16.1 in flap for pets up to 100 lb; and X-Large has a 14.6 x 23.4 in flap for pets up to 220 lb.

• Medium flap: 12.6 x 8.66 in; for dogs up to 42 lb.
• Frame size: 15.75 x 11.61 in.
• Measure your pet’s width and height, then add an inch.

What surfaces can this pet door fit?

It fits doors, walls, screens and glass panels from 0 to 2.8 in (0 to 7.1 cm) thick. Adjustable plastic tunnel sections slide into the frame and can be cut to size, allowing the tunnel to suit the thickness of the installation surface. The door can be used indoors or outdoors, including on an interior door between rooms or an entry to a yard, garage or porch.

• Suitable surface thickness: 0–2.8 in (0–7.1 cm).
• Tunnel sections are adjustable and cut to size.
• Intended for interior or exterior use.

How does the two-way access control work?

The sliding composite-aluminum panel switches between open access and locked access, so you can keep your pet inside or outside as needed. When the flap is in use, magnets pull it back toward the center after each passage. A thick side brush seal helps limit drafts around the flap between trips; the design is intended to keep the door closed and weather-resistant.

• Choose open access or locked access with the sliding panel.
• Magnetic centering helps return the flap to its closed position.
• A side brush seal helps block drafts.

What is included for installation?

The package includes the pet door’s tunnel sections, a paper template and mounting hardware. Installation involves cutting an opening with basic tools, fitting the frames and screwing the two frames together for a finished appearance on both sides. The painted solid-aluminum frame resists rust, and the vinyl flap is UV-resistant for exposure to sunlight and everyday pet use. The door is designed for both cats and dogs, with the Medium size intended for medium dogs.

• Paper installation template and mounting hardware are included.
• Basic tools are needed to cut the opening.
• Frame sections screw together after fitting.
• Three-year limited manufacturer warranty.
