Summer brings more than flying insects: horses may also encounter pollen, direct sun and airborne debris. This mask brings coverage for those seasonal irritants together with shading and a breathable design. Its features address common fit and comfort needs, including room for a fuller forelock and softly padded edges where the mask meets the horse’s skin.

What is this horse fly mask designed to protect against?

It is made for horses bothered by summer horseflies, pollen, direct UV rays and debris. The fine mesh provides coverage while allowing airflow, and its non-heat-transferring construction is designed not to pass heat through the material. The mask also provides noticeable shade from light and sunshine, with a cooling effect.

• Dense fine mesh forms the mask’s protective covering.
• Sunlight shading is part of its summer-focused design.
• The mask is intended for seasonal outdoor nuisances and exposure.

Will it accommodate a horse with a large forelock?

Yes. A generous opening between the ears leaves room for a large forelock. Pull the forelock hair out through the opening so the mask can lie comfortably and flat on the horse’s head. The opening is a practical fit detail for horses with more hair at the forehead, rather than a space that needs to be covered by the mask.

• The forelock opening sits between the ears.
• Hair pulled through the opening helps the mask lie flat.
• Softly padded edges are designed to reduce pressure marks on the skin.

How does the mask stay in place?

One adjustable touch-and-go strap fastens beneath the jaw. The strap is designed to secure the mask and help prevent slipping, while the padded fleece trim softens the edges against the horse’s skin. The trim also helps keep debris and flying particles from getting underneath the mask.

• The chin strap is positioned under the jaw.
• The fleece-trimmed edges help limit particles from entering beneath the mask.
• The adjustable fastening is designed to fit every horse.

This mask suits horses spending summer time outdoors, particularly those needing coverage from flying nuisances, sunlight and debris. Its large-forelock opening and adjustable under-jaw fastening address two useful fit considerations, while the fine mesh and padded fleece trim bring together seasonal coverage and a softer edge against the skin. It is a summer fly mask with shading, forelock room and a secured fit in one design.
