Summer conditions can expose horses to flying insects, pollen, loose debris and direct sunshine. This mask is made for horses encountering those nuisances outdoors, combining a fine-mesh covering with design details intended to support a comfortable, settled fit. Its mesh is breathable and does not transfer heat, while the covering provides shade from light and sunshine.

What does this fly mask help protect against?

The dense mesh is designed to shield the horse from harsh UV rays while allowing airflow. It also provides noticeable shading and cooling from light and sunshine. The mask is intended to minimize the chance of skin conditions associated with exposure, rather than to treat an existing condition.

• Fine mesh forms the protective covering.
• The material is described as non-heat-transferring.
• Its summer use also addresses nuisance from flying particles.

Will the mask accommodate a horse with a large forelock?

Yes. The opening between the ears provides room for a large forelock. Pulling the extra hair through this opening lets the mask lie comfortably and flat on the horse’s head, rather than trapping the forelock beneath the fabric.

• The opening is positioned between the ears.
• It is designed for horses with extra forelock hair.

How does the mask fit around the horse’s head?

The mask has softly padded edges and fastens with an adjustable touch-and-go strap beneath the jaw. The fleece edging is intended to reduce pressure marks on the skin and help keep debris and flying particles from getting under the mask.

• The fastening point is under the jaw.
• The strap adjusts for a secure fit.

This mask suits horse owners looking for summer coverage from UV exposure and common outdoor nuisances, especially when a horse has a large forelock or needs an adjustable under-jaw fastening. Its dense, breathable mesh, fleece-padded edges, forelock opening and chin strap are the features that shape its fit and purpose.
