Summer sunlight, insects and airborne particles can make time outdoors uncomfortable for horses. This mask brings shade and a barrier against common summer nuisances together in one wearable design. Its size L designation and adjustable under-jaw fastening help make fit considerations clear when choosing a mask for your horse.

What does this horse fly mask help protect against?

The fine mesh is made to provide noticeable shade and cooling in light and sunshine while helping protect against harsh UV rays. Its summer-focused coverage also helps keep horseflies, pollen and debris away from the horse. The mesh is described as long-lasting, and the UV protection is designed to minimize the chance of skin conditions without promising a particular outcome.

• Made for use against multiple summer nuisances, including direct UV rays.
• Breathable mesh provides coverage without being designed to transfer heat.

Will it accommodate a horse with a large forelock?

Yes. A generous opening between the ears leaves room for a large forelock. Pulling the forelock through this opening allows the mask to sit flat and comfortably on the horse’s head, rather than trapping the hair beneath the mask.

• The opening is positioned between the ears.
• The forelock can be drawn out through the opening before the mask is settled into place.

How are the edges and fit designed?

Soft padded fleece trims the edges to help reduce pressure marks on the horse’s skin. The edging also helps stop debris and flying particles from slipping underneath. An adjustable touch-and-go strap fastens below the jaw and is designed to keep the mask from slipping during wear.

• One adjustable strap secures the mask beneath the jaw.
• The offered size is L; the chin strap provides fit adjustment.

This mask is suited to horse owners looking for summer coverage from sunlight, flies, pollen and debris, particularly for a horse with a substantial forelock. Its size L format, forelock opening, fleece-padded edging and adjustable under-jaw strap define how it is designed to fit and protect.
