• Slit corners and a non-slip bottom — help the pad fit different crate brands and stay in place.

• One-year limited warranty — provides manufacturer warranty coverage.

Crating can be a new experience for a puppy adjusting to a different home and routine. This pad pairs a soft sleeping surface with a heartbeat device intended to help ease anxiety and stress associated with separation. It is also made for crate use during travel or thunderstorms, when a familiar soothing cue may be helpful.

How does the heartbeat device work?

The removable device imitates a mother’s melodic heartbeat through vibration, helping puppies settle during kenneling and crating. Heartbeat rates vary by breed size, so K&H bases the device on estimated heartbeats for the puppy’s and parents’ breed sizes. The device sits in a pocket at the front of the pad and is not easily accessible to the puppy.

• Start or stop the unit by pressing and holding for three seconds.
• The device automatically shuts off after eight hours.

Will this pad fit my crate?

The gray pad measures 21 x 31 inches (53.3 x 78.7 cm) and has slit corners designed to accommodate different crate brands. Its non-slip bottom helps keep it positioned inside the crate. Measure the crate’s usable floor area against the pad dimensions to choose a suitable fit.

• Intended for medium/large breed puppies, as named in the product size.
• The slits at the corners provide flexibility around crate corners.

How do I wash the pad?

The pad is machine washable after you remove the heartbeat device from its front pocket. The removable design separates the electronic unit from the fleece sleeping surface for washing.

• Take the heartbeat device out before putting the pad in the washing machine.
• Return the device to the pocket for use after washing.
