The right-handed design is an important fit detail for choosing the tool.

What grooming work is this stripping knife designed for?

Mars Coat King is designed to shorten the topcoat, pluck and remove excess undercoat, and assist with finish work. The coarse teeth are sharp, making this a stripping tool intended for terriers rather than a general grooming accessory. Finish work is one of its stated uses for creating a show-dog look.

• Topcoat shortening is a stated purpose.
• Excess undercoat removal is another intended task.

What is the blade and handle made from?

The blade is high-grade steel that is hardened and rust-free, and the knife also features a stainless steel blade for durability and rust resistance. Its fine wooden handle is made from Bubinga red wood; the wood is naturally FSC certified, with sustainable forestry certification. The handle is riveted to support easier handling, especially when wet.

• Sharp coarse teeth are designed for stripping work.
• The wooden handle is shaped for easier handling in wet conditions.

Is it suitable for my grooming needs?

This is a right-handed tool made for terriers and described as professional grade. Its lightweight build is intended to make handling easier, while the combination of stripping and finishing uses makes it relevant for more than one stage of terrier coat grooming. Choose it when the grooming work calls for a right-handed stripping knife with coarse teeth.

• Designed specifically for terriers.
• Right-handed configuration.
• Made in Germany.
