Cold weather can make outdoor time less comfortable for small dogs. This vest coat is made for winter conditions, with waterproof and windproof features and a warm design. Choosing by your dog’s measurements, rather than a size label you have used for another brand, helps you select from the sizes provided for this coat.

What weather is the MaruPet vest coat made for?

MaruPet’s winter vest coat is designed for cold weather and has a waterproof, windproof design. The coat is intended to provide a warm layer for small dogs. The product name identifies the selected colour as X-Green; the variant here is XXS.

• Intended for cold-weather use.
• Waterproof and windproof design.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure your dog’s back, chest and neck, then compare all three measurements with the chart below. Take each measurement a little loosely. If a measurement falls between two sizes, or your dog is still growing, choose the larger size. Size labels differ between manufacturers, so use the measurements rather than relying on the size you usually buy.

• XXS — back 7.0 inches (17.8 cm); chest 11.0 inches (27.9 cm); neck 7.0 inches (17.8 cm).
• XS — back 9.0 inches (22.9 cm); chest 13.5 inches (34.3 cm); neck 9.0 inches (22.9 cm).
• S — back 11.0 inches (27.9 cm); chest 16.0 inches (40.6 cm); neck 10.5 inches (26.7 cm).
• M — back 12.5 inches (31.8 cm); chest 18.5 inches (47.0 cm); neck 12.0 inches (30.5 cm).
• L — back 15.5 inches (39.4 cm); chest 20.5 inches (52.1 cm); neck 14.5 inches (36.8 cm).
• XL — back 17.5 inches (44.5 cm); chest 21.0 inches (53.3 cm); neck 17.0 inches (43.2 cm).
• 2XL — back 18.5 inches (47.0 cm); chest 22.0 inches (55.9 cm); neck 18.5 inches (47.0 cm).

Is this coat suitable for every dog size, and how should I use the leash ring?

No. MaruPet makes this vest coat for small dogs; it is not suitable for medium or large dogs. Although the size chart includes several size labels, the product’s stated fit limit is small dogs, so consider that before choosing. For safety, do not connect a leash directly to the vest’s leash ring in situations such as crossing a road.

• Intended dog size: small.
• Do not attach a leash directly to the leash ring in higher-risk situations.

This coat is suited to small-dog owners looking for a warm, waterproof and windproof winter vest and who can compare their dog’s back, chest and neck measurements with the chart. Its stated size limit is small dogs, and the chart gives three measurements to guide the fit.
