NorthFin Krill Pro Fish Food, 3 mm Slow-Sinking Pellets, 250 g

NorthFin Krill Pro is a daily fish food for freshwater and marine fish, made as slow-sinking 3 mm pellets in a 250 g package.

• Whole Antarctic krill is the first ingredient — provides protein and naturally occurring carotenoids.
• Slow-sinking 3 mm pellets — give mid-water and bottom-feeding fish access to food.
• For carnivorous and omnivorous freshwater and saltwater fish — includes cichlids and marine species.
• Minimum crude protein of 42% — gives shoppers a concrete nutrition figure for comparing diets.
• Made in Canada using low-heat steam extrusion, without fillers, added hormones or artificial colors — keeps the formula focused on its listed ingredients.

NorthFin Krill Pro is made for everyday feeding when fish need a diet suited to their feeding zone and dietary type. Its slow descent gives fish that feed in mid-water or near the bottom time to reach the pellets, while the formula brings together krill, herring meal, kelp, spirulina and mineral-containing clay. NorthFin says the easily digestible pellets support nutrient absorption and can help reduce aquarium waste; feed as directed and avoid overfeeding.

Which fish and feeding zones is NorthFin Krill Pro made for?

NorthFin Krill Pro is designed for carnivorous and omnivorous fish in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. The slow-sinking format serves mid-water and bottom feeders, and the 3 mm pellet size is suited to mid-size and larger fish, including cichlids and marine species. The sinking format also supports natural feeding behavior rather than keeping all food at the surface.

• Suitable for freshwater and marine fish.
• Made for carnivorous and omnivorous diets.
• Pellet size is intended for mid-size and larger fish.

What ingredients provide the nutrition and color support?

Whole Antarctic krill leads the formula, supplying protein, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, along with carotenoids and astaxanthin that naturally contribute to fish coloration. High-omega-3 herring meal is made from freshly caught, frozen herring and provides DHA, which supports fish development, growth and coloration.

The recipe also includes certified organic kelp, spirulina and calcium montmorillonite clay. Kelp contributes approximately 60 minerals, 21 amino acids and 12 vitamins, as well as nitrogen, potassium and micronutrients. Spirulina is a natural blue-green algae containing protein, vitamins, minerals, beta-carotene and other natural pigments; it is included to support health and immune function. The clay contains 67 minerals, including calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium and silica, plus trace elements that help compensate for previous dietary deficiencies.

• Krill supplies naturally occurring astaxanthin and other carotenoids.
• Herring meal supplies DHA from a high-omega-3 fish ingredient.
• Kelp, spirulina and mineral clay add varied nutrients and natural pigments.

How is the pellet formula made, and what does it leave out?

NorthFin produces this fish food in Canada using a low-heat steam-extrusion process. The formula is made without fillers, added hormones or artificial colors and pigments, and NorthFin gives it a minimum crude protein value of 42%.

The pellets are described as easily digestible, with slow sinking intended to make feeding accessible through more of the aquarium water column. NorthFin’s stated purpose for this format is to support nutrient absorption and help limit the waste that can accumulate in an aquarium. Use the food as directed and avoid overfeeding.
