Outward Hound Activity Matz Plush Dog Puzzle Mat, Multicolour Level 2 Treat Enrichment

Outward Hound by Nina Ottosson Activity Matz is a plush dog puzzle mat for treat-based enrichment, with three games in one and Level 2 intermediate challenges.

• Level 2 with multiple one-step actions — offers an approachable puzzle challenge for dogs with little or no puzzle experience.
• Three ways to play, including a snuffle mat and treat pockets — lets dogs search for hidden rewards.
• Holds 1/2 cup of dog food — works with treats or kibble for food-focused play.
• 15 minutes of mental stimulation is equal to 30 minutes of physical activity — adds a problem-solving activity to your dog’s routine.
• Made without BPA, PVC, lead, or phthalates — gives you the material information for choosing a dog toy.
• Non-slip backing, easy-to-clean design, and foldable storage — supports play, cleanup, and putting the mat away.

Dogs naturally use their senses to search for food, and this mat turns that instinct into a supervised enrichment game. Treat-focused challenges are designed to engage the senses, provide mental and physical exercise, help relieve stress, and reduce boredom. The game can also help redirect unwanted behaviors such as excessive barking, chewing, and digging.

What challenge level does the Activity Matz offer?

The Activity Matz is a Level 2 intermediate puzzle with multiple one-step actions, and it is suitable for dogs with little to no puzzle experience. You can change how challenging the game is to suit your dog’s problem-solving ability, making it easier or harder as needed.

• Uses treat-focused searching to engage dogs in problem-solving.
• Offers adjustable difficulty through different ways to set up play.

How do the three games work?

Dogs sniff out food in the snuffle mat and search for rewards in the mat’s pockets. For a more challenging round, hide treats in the pockets and fasten them with the hook-and-loop closures. Use dog treats or kibble, up to the mat’s 1/2-cup capacity.

• Start with food hidden in the snuffle mat, then add the pockets as your dog learns the game.
• Tips & Tricks provide ways to make play easier or harder.

How should I use and care for the puzzle mat?

Use the mat only with close supervision: teach your dog how the game works, and do not leave your dog alone with it or allow chewing on the mat or its pieces. Inspect it regularly and remove it from use if damaged or if parts separate, as these can create a serious injury risk. It is easy to clean and folds for storage when play is over.

• Choose a toy size, style, and level appropriate for your dog.
• When empty, put the mat away until the next supervised session.
• This is a dog toy, not a children’s toy; no toy or game is indestructible.

The Activity Matz suits dog owners looking to add supervised, food-based problem-solving to playtime, especially for dogs beginning puzzle games. It is designed for dogs and offers adjustable treat-search challenges in a foldable plush mat.
