Paws Aboard Reflective Dog Life Jacket, Red, Medium with Chin-Float Collar and Rescue Handle

The Paws Aboard Reflective Dog Life Jacket is a flotation vest for dogs enjoying water activities, with a raised chin-support collar and a rescue handle for assisted lifting.

• Wetsuit-grade neoprene with a nylon outer shell — follows your dog’s body and is designed to resist tears from boat and dock edges.
• Raised chin-float collar — helps support your dog’s head above the water.
• Reinforced top handle and leash D-ring — support lifting and leash attachment around the water.
• Red design with 360° reflective trim — adds visibility in dawn, dusk and overcast conditions.
• Medium size fits dogs weighing 25–50 lb (11.3–22.7 kg) — adjustable straps and a hook-and-loop panel help create a closer fit.
• Quick-dry mesh underbelly — helps reduce chafing during longer days on the water.

Water outings can involve swimming, getting in and out of boats, and moving between shore and dock. This vest is made for dogs joining their people at the pool, lake, beach, river, or on a boat, paddleboard or kayak. Its flotation features, reflective trim and lifting handle bring several practical details together in one wearable design.

How does the collar help in the water?

The raised chin-float collar supports a dog’s head above the water and is designed to help keep the nose up. It can be useful for first-time swimmers, anxious dogs and dogs with short muzzles, as well as puppies and older dogs that may tire. The collar adds head support alongside the vest’s body flotation.

• Made to help keep a dog oriented as they tire.
• Designed for dogs that are new to swimming or uneasy in the water.

What is the vest made from?

The DualShell construction combines wetsuit-grade neoprene with a nylon outer shell. Neoprene is designed to sit close to the dog’s body, rather than feeling like the stiff ripstop polyester used in many swim vests. The nylon shell is made to withstand contact with sharp boat edges, kayak cleats and dock boards.

• The design pairs a flexible inner construction with a nylon exterior.
• A mesh underbelly dries quickly and helps prevent chafing on longer boat days.

How can you lift or leash your dog in the vest?

A reinforced handle on top of the vest is positioned at the dog’s center of mass to help you lift them level. A D-ring beneath the handle provides a leash attachment point for paddleboarding, kayaking, boat-deck control and walks along the shore. These details make the vest useful for moving between water and land as well as during swimming activities.

• Suitable for pool, lake, boat, beach, SUP, kayak, dock and river-raft outings.
• The handle is designed for assisted lifting; the D-ring is for leash attachment.

How do you choose the right size and design?

The collection also includes an XX-Small size for dogs under 6 lb (2.7 kg), along with eight design choices: Nautical Dog, Racing Flames, Pink Polka Dot, Grey Camo, Neon Yellow, Blue & Yellow, Pink/Silver and Signature Red.

• This version is the red, medium design.
