Race&Herd 18-Inch Herding Ball, Gold – Complete Set with Cover and Pump

Race&Herd Original Herding Ball is an 18-inch (45.7 cm) ball designed for supervised herding play, with a protective cover and replaceable inner ball.

• Too large to carry and weighted to roll and stop like livestock — encourages dogs to push, chase and steer with their shoulders and nose.
• 18-inch Small size — made for small breeds and puppies starting herding play.
• Cover, inner ball, hand pump, repair patches and IACP-approved training guide — a complete set for getting started.
• Two-layer construction with a replaceable inner ball — lets you repair a puncture instead of discarding the whole ball.
• Inflates to 2–3 PSI (13.8–20.7 kPa) — gives you a clear pressure range for setup.

Herding breeds are built to chase and direct movement, but an ordinary fetch ball is made to be picked up and carried. This ball is designed for pushing and steering during supervised herding play, giving dogs an activity shaped around those instincts. The gold cover protects the inner ball as dogs work it across the play area.

How is the Race&Herd ball designed for herding play?

Its size and weighted roll make it difficult to carry, so dogs can move it with their shoulders and nose instead. The ball is intended for supervised herding play, not chewing; keep it away from direct heat.

• Use it for pushing, chasing and steering practice.
• Keep play supervised and do not use it as a chew toy.

What size should I choose for my dog?

The 18-inch Small is the starter size for small breeds and puppies beginning herding play. For dogs over about 20 lb (9.1 kg), choose the 22-inch (55.9 cm) or 25-inch (63.5 cm) size instead.

• Small: 18 inches (45.7 cm).
• Size up for dogs above the approximate 20 lb guideline.

What comes with the ball, and how do I set it up?

The set includes a zip cover, inner ball, hand pump, repair patches and an IACP-approved herding training guide. Inflate the inner ball until firm, using the recommended 2–3 PSI range, then place it in the protective cover.

• The cover takes the pushing during play.
• The inner ball is replaceable, and repair patches are included for punctures.
• Keep the ball out of direct heat during use and storage.

This set suits owners of small herding breeds and puppies who want an activity focused on pushing and steering rather than carrying or chewing. Its cover, replaceable inner ball, hand pump, patches and training guide make it a ready-to-use option for supervised herding play.
