Race&Herd 22-Inch Original Herding Ball, Cherry, with Repairable Cover & Pump

Race&Herd’s 22" Original Herding Ball is made for supervised herding play, with a weighted roll designed to let dogs push and steer it like livestock.

• Weighted to roll and stop like livestock — encourages dogs to push and steer with their shoulders and nose.
• 22" Medium fits dogs roughly 10–35 lb — a size option for breeds such as Shelties, Corgis and lighter Collies.
• Protective zip cover and replaceable inner ball — two layers that can be repaired with the included patches.
• Complete set with hand pump and IACP-approved training guide — includes key items for getting started.
• Inflates to 2–3 PSI and is for supervised herding play — helps guide proper use and care.

Dogs bred to herd can benefit from an activity that gives them something to chase and control without carrying it like a fetch toy. This ball is designed for herding-style play, with a roll and stop that invites dogs to guide it using their nose and shoulders. Its Cherry colour identifies this version.

Which dogs is the 22" Medium size for?

The 22" (55.9 cm) Medium is intended for dogs roughly 10–35 lb (4.5–15.9 kg), including Shelties, Corgis and lighter Collies. Dogs over 35 lb (15.9 kg) should use the 25" (63.5 cm) or 30" (76.2 cm) size instead. Choose based on your dog’s weight so the ball suits their build and herding play.

• Medium size: 22" across.
• Suggested dog weight: roughly 10–35 lb.

How is the Race&Herd ball designed for herding?

Its size and weighted movement make it too large to carry and help it roll and stop like livestock. Dogs can push, chase and steer the ball with their shoulders and nose, rather than pick it up for a game of fetch. The design is for herding play, not fetching.

• Made for pushing, chasing and steering.
• Use it as a supervised herding activity, not as a chew toy.

What comes with the ball, and can it be repaired?

The set includes the protective zip cover, inner ball, hand pump, repair patches and an IACP-approved herding training guide. The cover takes the pushing during play, while the inner ball can be replaced. Patches are included for repairs, so a puncture does not automatically mean the ball must be discarded.

• One protective zip cover and one inner ball.
• Hand pump, repair patches and training guide included.

How should I inflate and use it?

Inflate the ball until firm, at 2–3 PSI, and keep it out of direct heat. Use it only for supervised herding play; it is not designed to be a chew toy. These use guidelines help keep play focused on pushing and steering the ball.

• Inflate until firm; use the included hand pump.
• Keep away from direct heat.

The Race&Herd Original Herding Ball suits owners of dogs in the Medium weight range who want a purpose-built ball for supervised herding activity. Its livestock-like movement, repairable two-layer setup and included training guide make it suited to pushing and steering play rather than chewing or fetch.
