Race&Herd 25-Inch Herding Ball, Gold, with Cover, Inner Ball & Pump

Race&Herd 25-inch Original Herding Ball is designed for supervised herding play, with a weighted, roll-and-stop shape and a protective cover over a replaceable inner ball.

• 25-inch (63.5 cm) herding ball — gives herding breeds a ball to push and steer rather than carry.
• Weighted to roll and stop like livestock — encourages dogs to chase and guide it with their shoulders and nose.
• Complete play set — includes a zip cover, inner ball, hand pump, repair patches and an IACP-approved herding training guide.
• Two-layer, repairable design — the cover takes the pushing, while the replaceable inner ball and included patches offer repair options.
• Size guidance and use limits — the 25-inch size suits dogs about 18–40 lb (8.2–18.1 kg); inflate to 2–3 PSI (14–21 kPa), supervise play and keep it out of direct heat.

Dogs bred to herd often enjoy pushing, chasing and steering moving objects. This ball is made for that kind of active play, giving them a large target to guide with their body instead of a toy designed to be picked up and carried. Use it for supervised herding play; it is not a chew toy.

How does the Race&Herd ball support herding play?

Its size and weighted construction make the ball too large to carry and help it roll and stop like livestock. Dogs can push, chase and steer it using their shoulders and nose, bringing herding-style movement into play. The ball is intended for herding, not fetch, and play should be supervised.

• Made for pushing and steering, rather than carrying.
• Use only for supervised play; it is not designed as a chew toy.

Which dogs fit the 25-inch size?

The 25-inch Large size is intended for dogs about 18–40 lb (8.2–18.1 kg), including Border Collies and Blue Heelers. For high-drive dogs or dogs weighing 35 lb (15.9 kg) or more, choose the 30-inch size (76.2 cm). Compare your dog's weight and activity level with this guidance when choosing a size.

• 25-inch Large: about 18–40 lb.
• 30-inch size: suggested for high-drive dogs or dogs 35 lb and up.

What comes with the ball, and how do you prepare it?

The set contains the protective zip cover, inner ball, hand pump, repair patches and an IACP-approved herding training guide. Inflate the ball until firm, at 2–3 PSI (14–21 kPa), and keep it away from direct heat. The cover handles the pushing while the inner ball can be replaced, and patches are included for repairs.

• Gold color.
• Includes a hand pump and repair patches.
• Inflate until firm and keep out of direct heat.

The Race&Herd Original Herding Ball suits owners looking for a supervised activity that lets herding breeds push and guide a large rolling ball. The 25-inch size is aimed at dogs about 18–40 lb, while high-drive or 35 lb-and-up dogs are directed to the 30-inch size.
