Recycling Rules Hanging Wastebasket for Trash, Black Compact Bin with Lid

Recycling Rules Hanging Wastebasket is a compact black bin for separating landfill waste beside a recycling station, measuring 7.5 in W x 5.5 in D x 7 in H (19.1 x 14 x 17.8 cm).

• Hanging design — keeps a separate waste container close to a recycling bin.
• Universal plastic clip — attaches to the Low Profile Desksider and fits most recycling containers.
• Clip with two screw slots — allows cabinet mounting for collecting kitchen scraps.
• Lid — helps keep odors in when collecting waste or compost scraps.
• Made in America by the nonprofit Recycling Rules — sales benefit its education initiatives across the U.S.

This small bin is made for sorting landfill waste at a desk or wherever a recycling container is used. A 2015 Keep America Beautiful study identified a recycling container paired with a small attached trash container as an effective deskside setup. Its hanging format puts the two containers together without requiring a separate floor-standing trash bin.

How does the hanging wastebasket attach?

The plastic clip hangs from the Low Profile Desksider or most recycling containers. Its universal design makes it useful alongside many bins, while the clip’s two screw slots also let you mount the wastebasket inside a cabinet. Recycling containers are sold separately, so this product is the small companion bin rather than a complete recycling station.

• Use it with a recycling bin to separate landfill waste at the point of disposal.
• Mount it inside a cabinet when you want a container for kitchen scraps.
• For a hanging setup, compare the bin’s dimensions with the space available beside your container.

What can I collect in this bin?

Use the covered wastebasket for small amounts of landfill waste, kitchen scraps for composting, or dryer lint and used fabric sheets. The lid helps keep odors in, making the cabinet-compost and laundry-area uses practical options as well as deskside waste sorting.

• Keep it near a clothes dryer to gather lint and used fabric sheets.
• Place it inside a cabinet to collect kitchen scraps for composting.
• Pair it with a recycling container to keep landfill waste separate.

How do I clean it, and what size is it?

The smooth surface makes the wastebasket easy to wash out. Its compact dimensions are 7.5 in wide, 5.5 in deep and 7 in high, useful measurements to compare with the container or cabinet where you plan to hang or mount it.

• Black plastic wastebasket with a lid and hanging clip.
• Small format for deskside sorting and other compact collection spots.

This bin suits people setting up a paired deskside waste-and-recycling station, collecting compost scraps inside a cabinet, or keeping dryer lint in one place. It is a compact companion for separating small waste streams, not a standalone recycling container.
