Wet, windy conditions can make everyday walks and trail outings uncomfortable for dogs. The Sun Shower is made as an outer layer for changeable weather, with coverage designed to stay in place as dogs move. Its medium size is for shoppers choosing a raincoat for a medium dog.

How does the Sun Shower protect a dog in the rain?

The weatherproof shell blocks rain and wind to help keep dogs dry and comfortable. Its lightweight ripstop fabric is seam-sealed, while the oversized storm collar and longer vest-style cut add coverage across the hips and thighs. Adjustable leg loops help the coat stay put in gusty weather.

• Designed for unpredictable conditions on the trail.
• The vest-style cut adds coverage beyond the torso.

Can the coat be worn over a harness, and how is the fit adjusted?

Yes, the back leash portal allows the coat to be worn over most harnesses. Side-release buckles make it easier to put on and take off, while the hem cinch lets you adjust the fit for active movement. For the medium size, measure your dog and use Ruffwear’s sizing chart to choose the right fit.

• The leash portal provides access for connecting a leash to a compatible harness.
• Leg loops and the adjustable hem help keep the coat positioned during movement.

What visibility and storage features does it have?

The coat has reflective trim and an integrated light loop for Ruffwear’s Beacon Light, which is sold separately. Its lightweight construction is designed to pack away easily when the rain layer is not in use, making it practical to bring along on outings.

• Reflective trim supports visibility during early-morning and late-night outings.
• The integrated loop is for use with the Beacon Light.

The Ruffwear Sun Shower suits people looking for a rain-and-wind outer layer for a medium dog on walks or trail adventures. Its medium fit and dog-specific coverage make it a practical choice for changeable outdoor weather.
