Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Zip Dog Cooling Vest, Salmon Pink, Medium, SPF 50+

Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Zip Dog Vest is a salmon pink, medium evaporative-cooling vest designed to provide dogs with shade in hot weather, featuring SPF 50+ coverage and a three-layer construction.

• Three-layer evaporative-cooling construction — holds water and supports cooling as it evaporates.
• SPF 50+ coverage — adds sun coverage for outdoor wear.
• Zip closure and stretchy, form-fitting design — makes the vest easy to put on and comfortable to wear.
• Compatible with most leads and harnesses — works with common walking gear.
• Field-tested design with a guarantee against defects — backed by Ruffwear’s product promise.

For summer outings, beach visits and travel, this vest combines shade coverage with a cooling system built around evaporation. Its fitted cut and zip closure are designed for practical wear, while the fabric layers and chest panel focus cooling coverage on the dog’s body.

How does the Swamp Cooler Zip help cool a dog?

The vest uses a three-layer system that stores water and supports evaporative cooling. A wicking Spandex outer layer reflects heat and helps evaporation, while the absorbent middle layer holds water; mesh lining helps keep the dog dry. The chest panel is designed to disperse heat from the dog’s core.

• Wicking Spandex layer helps reflect heat and aids evaporation.
• Absorbent middle layer stores water for the cooling system.
• Mesh lining and chest-panel coverage are built into the vest.

How does it fit, and what walking gear is it compatible with?

The medium vest has a stretchy, form-fitting shape and a zip closure for easier on and off. It is compatible with most leads and harnesses, and its reflective trim supports visibility in low-light conditions. It can also be used with The Beacon.

• Salmon pink color and medium size.
• Reflective trim for low-light visibility.
• Designed to work with most leads and harnesses, not every possible setup.

What makes this vest different from a standard dog jacket?

Rather than relying only on a covering layer, the Swamp Cooler Zip combines sun coverage with fabric designed to aid evaporative cooling. Ruffwear custom-designs its products from a dog’s perspective, using technical fabric and ergonomically crafted hardware.

• SPF 50+ coverage for hot-weather outings.
• Strong, durable hardware is part of the design.
• Ruffwear field-tests its range and guarantees against defects.

This vest suits dog owners looking for a fitted layer for summer activities, including beach trips and travel, with shade and an evaporation-based cooling system. It is made for hot-weather coverage, with compatibility for most leads and harnesses and a zip closure for straightforward dressing.
