How does the Swamp Cooler Zip Dog Vest provide cooling?

Ruffwear’s vest works by holding water in its absorbent middle layer, where the water can evaporate and disperse heat. To activate the cooling design, soak the vest with water. The outer layer reflects heat and facilitates evaporation, while the middle layer stores water for that process.

• Wicking outer layer helps reflect heat and facilitate evaporation.
• Absorbent middle layer holds water for evaporation.
• Mesh lining is included to keep your dog comfortable.

Does the vest allow movement during outdoor activity?

Yes. Ruffwear uses a formfitting shape and zippered closure to keep the cooling effect close to your dog’s body, with oversized armholes for a full range of motion. The vest is designed for active adventures and outdoor use.

• The zippered closure secures the vest in its close-fitting design.
• Oversized armholes are the specific movement-focused feature.

What sun coverage does the vest offer?

The spandex back panel is rated UPF 50+, and the wicking outer layer also offers UPF 50+. These features provide lightweight sun coverage as part of a vest designed for hot conditions.

• UPF 50+ rating applies to the spandex back panel.
• The wicking outer layer also offers UPF 50+.
