The Sherpa Forma Frame is a medium, crash-tested travel pet carrier for cats and small dogs, with a 19.68 x 9.84 x 9.84 in (50 x 25 x 25 cm) footprint and a maximum pet weight of 16 lb (7.3 kg).

• Approved for most airlines and part of the Guaranteed On Board program — made for in-cabin trips with your pet.
• Crash-tested to comply with child restraint system standards — designed for safer travel in a vehicle.
• Seatbelt-style straps connect with LATCH, ISOFIX and other car-seat tether systems — helping secure the carrier in a vehicle.
• Claw-proof mesh, escape-proof locking zippers and a safety leash — help keep pets contained while allowing ventilation.
• Foldable metal Forma Frame support — provides a structured carrier that can be folded for storage.

Travel with a cat or small dog can involve changing between the car, airport, public transport and visits away from home. This soft-sided carrier is designed to serve as an in-cabin carrier, a vehicle pet seat and a crate for outings or vet visits. Its multiple carry options and foldable support make it useful for pet owners who need one carrier for different parts of a journey.

Can the Sherpa Forma Frame travel in an airplane cabin?

Yes, the medium carrier is approved for most airlines and is designed to fit under most airplane seats in compliance with FAA regulations. It is included in Sherpa’s Guaranteed On Board program. Airline approval and under-seat fit apply to most airlines, so the carrier is not presented as a fit for every aircraft or seat.

• Also designed for travel by bus, car and train.
• The black medium carrier measures 19.68 x 9.84 x 9.84 in (50 x 25 x 25 cm).
• Maximum pet weight is 16 lb (7.3 kg).

How does the carrier secure a pet in the car?

The Sherpa Forma Frame is crash-tested to comply with standards for child restraint systems and is designed for in-vehicle use. Seatbelt-style straps attach to LATCH, ISOFIX and other car-seat tether systems, and the carrier also functions as a pet car seat in SUVs and other standard vehicles. Sherpa products are designed to meet child safety standards; this is not a claim of certification as a child restraint.

• Designed with a solid Forma Frame structure for travel comfort and safety.
• A proprietary connection system supports structural integrity, component durability and streamlined utility.
• The metal frame support folds for easier storage.

What features help keep a pet comfortable and contained?

Claw-proof mesh windows and doors provide ventilation, while escape-proof locking zippers and an interior safety leash help secure a pet inside. The base is waterproof, and the carrier comes with a washable quilted mat. An integrated handle and buckles are built into the design.

• Carry it by the padded top handle or use the included detachable shoulder strap with the exterior loops.
• The carrier can also be carried as a backpack.
• Use it as a soft-sided crate for regular outings and vet visits with cats and small dogs.

How should I choose the right fit for my pet?

Measure your pet and compare those measurements with the carrier’s interior space, then consider your pet’s weight. The maximum weight is 16 lb (7.3 kg), and your pet should have enough room to change positions inside. The carrier is a medium size, so fit depends on your pet’s body measurements as well as weight.

• Do not exceed the 16 lb (7.3 kg) pet weight limit.
• Allow room for your pet to change positions.
• Packaging contains small parts; discard the packaging after opening and read its instructions, warnings and cautions.

The Sherpa Forma Frame is suited to owners of cats and small dogs who travel by air, car, bus or train and want a carrier that can also serve for outings and vet visits. Its medium size, 16 lb (7.3 kg) pet limit, multiple carry options and vehicle attachment system make it a travel-focused carrier rather than a one-purpose bag.
