Why choose orchard grass hay for a small animal?

Orchard grass hay offers a different grass option for small animals whose diets benefit from variety. Small animals encounter different grasses and plants in nature, and this hay brings another type of grass into their feeding routine. It is also an option for pets with allergies to timothy hay.

• Made as food for small animals.
• Provides a hay choice other than timothy.

How much hay should a small animal have?

Hay should make up about 80% of a small animal’s diet, with a constant supply available. A regular supply of fiber helps support the gastrointestinal tract and dental health, and helps prevent bloat and stasis. Refresh the hay at least once a day to keep it fresh-smelling and enticing.

• Keep hay available so your pet does not run out.
• Offer a fresh supply at least daily.

How is Small Pet Select Orchard Grass Hay packed?

The hay is hand-selected and packed by hand in small batches, with minimal handling during packing. Small Pet Select works closely with farmers in Washington State, where the company began and where one of its two warehouses is located. The hay comes in a high-strength corrugated box that opens and closes for convenient storage.

• Hand packing allows quality checks during the packing process.
• The resealable-style box is designed to open and close for storage.
