vomvomp 5-Layer Bird Collar for Congo African Grey Parrots, Feather-Picking Protection

The vomvomp 5-layer bird collar is designed to help Congo African Grey parrots with mild feather plucking by shielding the chest, back, wings, and underwing area.

• Five soft layers — provide a protective cover for birds with mild feather picking.
• Coverage over the chest, back, wings, and underwing area — helps deter plucking and picking in those places.
• Fleece on the top layers — offers an alternate focus for birds prone to self-harm.
• Slip-on design — makes the collar easy to put on and difficult for the bird to remove.
• Designed to allow eating, drinking, and daily activities — supports use during recovery and routine care.

Feather picking, wound recovery, and post-surgery care can call for a protective layer that still lets a parrot go about everyday activities. This collar is made for mild pluckers and can also be used during bathing, nail trimming, and grooming. Its thin, draping style covers selected body areas rather than the entire bird.

What areas does the collar protect?

The five-layer collar covers the chest, back, wings, and under the wings to help deter picking and self-harm in those areas. It is not designed to stop access to the neck, feet, or tail, so its coverage is focused on the body rather than a complete barrier.

• Made for mild feather plucking.
• Thin, draping profile.

Can my parrot eat and drink while wearing it?

Yes, the collar is designed to let a bird eat, drink, and continue other daily activities while wearing it. The slip-on style makes it easy to put on, and the design is intended to be difficult for the bird to remove.

• Suitable for use during bathing, nail trimming, and grooming.
• Can help protect wounds during recovery from injury or surgery.

Which parrots is this collar made for?

The collar is specially designed for Congo African Grey parrots and can also fit other parrots that are the same size. Named examples include Amazon parrots, Eclectus parrots, Galahs, Tanimbar Corellas, and rose-breasted cockatoos.

• Choose a size suited to your bird before buying.
• Species alone does not determine fit; the bird must be the same size as the intended fit.

When can I use the collar?

It is intended for mild feather plucking and can be used when protecting a wound or supporting recovery after surgery. It may also be useful when a bird needs a protective cover during grooming or bathing; the fleece on the top layers provides another focus for birds that pick at themselves.

• For feather picking associated with low mood or itchy skin, the collar provides a physical cover over its stated coverage areas.

This collar suits caregivers of Congo African Greys and same-size parrots who need targeted protection for mild feather picking, wound recovery, or routine grooming. Its five-layer, draping design covers the chest, back, wings, and underwing area while leaving the neck, feet, and tail accessible.
