Zilla Rock Lair Extra Large Reptile Hide, Humidity-Retaining Naturalistic Den

Zilla Rock Lair is an extra-large naturalistic reptile hide designed to retain humidity for shedding and egg-laying, with an assembled size of 13.5" L x 9" W x 6.25" H (34.3 x 22.9 x 15.9 cm).

• Side entrance, ramp and burrow-like walls — create a den-style retreat with reduced light.
• Mossy, textured exterior — gives reptiles a surface to rub against while shedding.
• Dark interior — offers a sheltered place for daily rest and hiding.
• Rock-like appearance — adds naturalistic décor to a bioactive or standard terrarium.
• Made for snakes, geckos and other egg-laying reptiles — suits animals that need a secure humid hide.

Reptiles need a place to withdraw from the visible habitat, and some benefit from a humid micro-environment during shedding or egg-laying. The Rock Lair brings those functions together in a den-inspired form. Its protected interior and textured exterior serve different purposes, while the naturalistic look can blend into either a bioactive or standard terrarium setup.

How does the Rock Lair help with shedding and egg-laying?

The hide retains humidity to create a micro-environment that supports proper shedding and is suited to egg-laying. Its textured outside gives reptiles a surface to rub against as they remove sloughing skin naturally. These features make it relevant for reptiles that need a secure, humid place as part of their habitat.

• Humidity-retaining design for a localized habitat environment.
• Textured surface supports natural rubbing during skin sloughing.
• Suitable for egg-laying reptiles seeking a protected area.

What makes the interior feel like a sheltered den?

A side entrance, ramp and burrow-like walls shape the route into a darker, enclosed retreat. The layout reduces light inside, giving reptiles a place to hide and rest during the day. The rock-like form and mossy texture bring a naturalistic visual element to the enclosure without changing the hide’s practical role.

• Side entry rather than an open-top shelter.
• Ramp and den-like walls form the approach and interior.
• Dark space for daily rest and concealment.

How much terrarium space does the extra-large hide need?

When assembled, the Zilla Rock Lair measures 13.5 inches long by 9 inches wide by 6.25 inches high (34.3 x 22.9 x 15.9 cm). Compare those dimensions with the available habitat space and your reptile’s size to choose an appropriate fit. The hide is designed for use in bioactive and standard terrarium setups.

• Extra-large assembled footprint: 13.5 inches long and 9 inches wide.
• Assembled height: 6.25 inches.
• For terrariums with room for the full assembled dimensions.

The Zilla Rock Lair is suited to snake, gecko and other egg-laying reptile habitats where a secure humid retreat can support shedding, resting or laying behavior. Its den-like interior and textured exterior make it a functional hide with naturalistic terrarium décor. It is sized for enclosures that can accommodate its extra-large assembled dimensions.
