• Serve as a complete balanced meal, a topper, or a treat — choose a format that suits your dog’s routine.
• Wild-caught New Zealand mackerel and free-range, grass-fed lamb — brings ingredients from New Zealand’s land and sea into one recipe.
• Air-dried raw ingredients and no grains — offers a dry alternative to raw food without the fillers commonly found in kibble.
• Meat, organs, bone, green mussels, green tripe, and organic kelp — combines animal ingredients with a blend that supports digestion, joint health, and healthy coats.
• Jerky-like, crunchy pieces — made small enough for puppies and soft enough for senior dogs.

This recipe is made for carnivorous dogs whose meals can include meat and organs without unnecessary carbohydrates. Use it as the main meal, add it to your dog’s existing food, or offer pieces as a reward. Its air-dried format provides a dry feeding option while keeping the recipe focused on animal ingredients.

What ingredients and sourcing define the Mackerel & Lamb recipe?

The recipe combines wild blue mackerel from the waters off New Zealand’s North Island with lamb raised on grass and clover. ZIWI sources its meats as free-range, grass-fed, and grass-finished, and its seafood as wild-caught, from New Zealand farms and oceans. The animals are raised without added hormones, antibiotics, or growth promotants.

Alongside mackerel and lamb, the recipe includes organs, bone, New Zealand green mussels, cold-washed green tripe, and organic kelp. Added vitamins and minerals complete the formula. The blend of green tripe, mussels, and kelp is included to support digestion, joint health, and healthy, shiny coats.

• Features both land-based and seafood ingredients from New Zealand.
• Includes meat and organs in ratios intended for carnivores.

How is this air-dried food made and what is its texture?

ZIWI gently air-dries raw ingredients to create a dry, grain-free alternative to raw dog food. The process is designed to preserve the ingredients’ nutrition and flavor, and provides shelf stability alongside the nutritional benefits of fresh food. The resulting pieces have a jerky-like texture with a crunchy bite.

The recipe contains no artificial fillers, dyes, or preservatives. Because it is handcrafted in small batches from natural ingredients, pieces can vary in shape, size, color, texture, and odor. Ingredient age and seasonality also contribute to these differences; variation is normal for this food.

• Air-dried rather than cooked as conventional kibble.
• Natural variation in the pieces is expected between batches.

Can I serve it as a meal, topper, or treat?

Yes. Serve ZIWI Peak Mackerel & Lamb as a complete balanced meal, use it as a topper on your dog’s existing food, or give pieces as treats. The recipe is nutrient-dense, so a little can go a long way; adjust the amount to suit the way you are feeding it.

When introducing this recipe, transition gradually over 6–8 days: increase the amount of the new food while decreasing the previous food. A gradual change is also recommended when rotating between ZIWI protein recipes to help minimize the potential for digestive upset.

• Suitable for feeding as a full meal or alongside another food.
• Gradual introduction supports a step-by-step change in diet.

Is the texture suitable for puppies and senior dogs?

The pieces are small enough for puppy food and soft enough for senior dogs, and the formula is intended for all life stages. Its crunchy texture also adds a different feel when used as a meal topper or treat.

• Made for dogs at different life stages, from puppies to seniors.
• Can add texture to an existing meal when served as a topper.

ZIWI Peak Mackerel & Lamb suits guardians looking for a New Zealand-sourced, air-dried recipe that can be served in several ways and is made for dogs across life stages. Its combination of mackerel, lamb, organs, and complementary ingredients makes it a practical fit for meal, topper, or treat routines.
