Can ZIWI Peak Chicken be fed as a meal or a topper?

Yes. ZIWI Peak Chicken is made to serve either as a complete meal or as a topper mixed with your dog’s usual food. The recipe is a high-protein, nutrient-dense, moisture-rich pâté with a chunky-loaf style, so it brings both its ingredients and texture to the bowl. It is formulated for puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs, across all breeds.

• Use it as the main food or mix it into an existing meal.
• The multipack contains 12 cans, each 13.75 oz (390 g).

What is in the chicken recipe?

The recipe features free-range chicken, organs, bone and New Zealand Green Mussels, with PeakPrey recipes built around meat and organs in authentic ratios. It is grain-free and has no added grains, potatoes or peas. Added vitamins and minerals round out the formula, alongside Z-Boost superfood inclusions.

• Cold-washed green tripe provides natural enzymes and probiotics associated with digestive support.
• New Zealand Green Mussels contain chondroitin, glucosamine and omega-3.
• Organic kelp supplies minerals and antioxidants.

The source ingredients include free-range, grass-fed meats, cage-free poultry and wild-caught seafood from New Zealand farms and oceans. They are raised without added hormones, antibiotics or growth promotants. The recipe also excludes artificial fillers, dyes and preservatives. These ingredient and sourcing choices distinguish the formula from foods built around unnecessary carbohydrates or those artificial additions.

How should I introduce ZIWI Peak Chicken?

Introduce the food gradually over 6–8 days, increasing the new recipe while decreasing the previous food. ZIWI Peak is nutrient-dense, so a little goes a long way; a gradual change also gives your dog time to adjust to the new recipe.

• Use the transition guide on the packaging when changing foods.
• For rotation between ZIWI proteins, transition gradually to help minimize the potential for digestive upset.

Why can the food look or smell different between cans?

Small-batch crafting with natural ingredients can produce variation in shape, size, color, texture and odor. Ingredient age and seasonality can also affect these natural differences, so variation is normal for this recipe.

• High inclusions of meat and organs are part of the recipe.
• The food is made in small batches by ZIWI’s New Zealand team.

This chicken canned food suits guardians looking for a moisture-rich, meat-and-organ recipe for a puppy, adult or senior dog, whether served as a meal or as a topper. Its New Zealand-sourced ingredients, chunky-loaf format and flexible feeding use make it a practical fit for varied feeding routines.
