BARKLESS Basket Muzzle for Dogs, XS with Treat Tray for Training

BARKLESS Basket Muzzle for Dogs is an XS basket-style muzzle designed to help prevent biting and scavenging while allowing dogs to pant and drink, with a snap-on treat tray for training.

• XS size for extra small dogs — choose a fit by measuring snout length and circumference.
• Snap-on treat cup — use treats to help introduce the muzzle and keep a dog engaged.
• Slow feeder attachment — prolongs treat engagement during grooming practice.
• Basket design — blocks access to food and harmful objects while allowing panting and drinking.
• Adjustable straps — help keep the muzzle in place when fitted snugly.

This muzzle is made for situations where a dog may bite, scavenge on walks, eat rocks, or lick a wound after surgery. The treat attachment also gives owners a way to make first introductions and grooming practice more rewarding, including visits to veterinarians and groomers.

What is the BARKLESS basket muzzle designed to do?

The BARKLESS basket muzzle is designed to help prevent biting and keep a dog from reaching food or harmful objects. It is suited to dogs that scavenge during walks or try to eat rocks, and it can help prevent licking wounds after surgery. The basket design still allows panting and drinking.

• Use it to limit access to items a dog might pick up outdoors.
• It is intended for use while allowing panting and drinking.

How do I choose the right XS fit?

Measure your dog’s snout circumference and length, then compare both measurements with the size chart. XS is intended for extra small dogs; Jack Russell Terriers are an example for reference, not a substitute for measuring. The tip of the dog’s nose should not touch the muzzle.

• Check both snout measurements before choosing a size.
• Adjust the straps for a secure fit that does not cause discomfort.
• Check the head strap to help prevent slipping.

How does the snap-on treat tray help with training?

Fill the snap-on treat cup with peanut butter or another treat to encourage a dog to put its nose into the muzzle. Its slow-feeder attachment extends treat engagement, which can encourage a dog to keep the muzzle on for longer during grooming practice.

• Use treats to make the first introduction more rewarding.
• The attachment can also help occupy a dog during visits to veterinarians and groomers.

How should I introduce the muzzle to my dog?

Build up wearing time gradually rather than expecting a dog to accept the muzzle immediately. Start by rewarding the dog for putting its nose inside, briefly fasten the muzzle, then remove it and reward the dog again.

• Increase the time worn in small steps as the dog adjusts.
• If the dog paws at or rubs the treat cover, redirect attention with a treat or favorite toy.
• Practice acclimatization before regular muzzle use.

The BARKLESS XS basket muzzle suits owners of extra small dogs who want a training aid for muzzle introduction, grooming visits, or situations involving scavenging and biting. For the best fit, use the dog’s snout measurements and ensure the nose tip does not touch the muzzle.
