ChokeFree Pet Shoulder Collar, 22-Inch Ostrich Pink Leather with Val-Lock Closure

ChokeFree is a 22-inch leather pet shoulder collar in Ostrich Pink, designed to restrain a pet without putting pressure on the neck or airway.

• One-piece shoulder wrap — places restraint around the shoulders rather than the neck.
• Patented Val-Lock Closure with a D-ring and hook-and-loop fastening — secures the collar without buckles or clasps.
• Leather construction with paw ornaments — combines the shoulder-wrap design with decorative details.
• Available for chest circumferences from 8 to 28 inches (20.32 to 71.12 cm) — offers sizing options across that measurement range.
• Easy-on, easy-off design — makes putting on and removing the collar straightforward.

For pets that pull against a leash, conventional neck collars and some harnesses can place pressure near the throat and airway. ChokeFree is made for walks and restraint where avoiding pressure on the neck is a priority. Its shoulder-based design is intended to help prevent restraint-related choking and neck injuries, including concerns associated with pressure on a pet’s windpipe.

How does the ChokeFree shoulder collar work?

The one-piece collar wraps around the pet’s shoulders, so restraint does not press against the neck, forechest, or airway. Its patented closure uses a D-ring placed through hook and loop to secure the fit without conventional buckles or clasps. The brand’s design claim is that restraint with this collar prevents coughing or gagging.

• Combines the simple, one-piece format of a collar with features of a harness.
• Designed as an alternative to conventional neck collars and harnesses.
• Suitable for use with Paw Rider.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure your pet’s chest circumference just behind the front legs, then add one inch to that measurement to determine the correct size. This Ostrich Pink model is identified as 22-inch; the shoulder collar range covers pets measuring 8 to 28 inches around the chest.

• Measure around the body behind the front legs, not around the neck.
• Use the added inch when determining the correct size from your pet’s chest measurement.

Good to know: The 22-inch size is the size shown for this product; choose using the chest-measurement guidance above.

What is the collar made of, and how is it fastened?

ChokeFree has a leather body and decorative paw ornaments, with a Val-Lock fastening that uses hook and loop and a D-ring. The easy-on, easy-off construction is intended to simplify fitting and removal for walks.

• Color: Ostrich Pink.
• Decorative paw details add an ornamental finish.
• Fastening uses a D-ring and hook-and-loop closure.
