Halatool Coconut Fibre Reptile Substrate, 6 Compressed Bricks for Moisture Control

Halatool compressed coconut fiber substrate is a six-brick bedding and growing medium for reptiles, amphibians, and plants, made from coconut husk fiber that absorbs up to 8–10 times its weight in water.

• Six compressed bricks made from organic coconut husk fiber — a reusable substrate for animal habitats and growing.
• Each brick measures about 7.87 × 3.94 × 1.97 inches (20 × 10 × 5 cm) — compact before soaking.
• Absorbs up to 8–10 times its weight in water — helps hold moisture for animals that need damp bedding.
• Helps minimize odor and break down waste — supports a cleaner habitat environment.
• Soak to expand, then let it dry for a day or two if it is too wet — prepare the amount and moisture level you need.

Compressed coir is a space-conscious way to keep substrate on hand for habitat setup and refreshes. Once hydrated, the coconut fiber expands into bedding for reptiles and amphibians, including snakes, frogs, and hermit crabs. Its moisture-holding properties also suit ground-dwelling spider mats and turtle hibernation bedding, while the same material can be used for growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers.

How do you prepare Halatool coconut fiber substrate?

Soak a brick in water until it expands and reconstitutes. The sponge-like coconut fiber takes up water as it expands; if the prepared substrate feels too wet for your intended use, leave it to dry for a day or two before adding it to the habitat or growing area. The compressed bricks are lightweight, and the expanded coir can be bagged like nutrient soil for storage.

• Begin with a compressed brick and add water to expand it.
• Allow extra drying time when the substrate is too wet.

Which animals and uses suit this coconut coir?

Halatool coconut fiber substrate is suitable for reptiles and amphibians that need moisture-holding bedding, including snakes, frogs, and hermit crabs. It can also serve as a feeding mat, a ground-dwelling spider rearing mat, or moisture-holding bedding for turtle hibernation. For non-habitat use, the coir is also suitable for growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers.

• Use it as reptile or amphibian substrate, or as a feeding mat.
• Suitable for ground-dwelling spider mats and turtle hibernation bedding.
• Can also be used as a growing medium for vegetables, fruits, and flowers.

What is each Halatool substrate brick made from?

Each brick is made from coconut husk fiber extracted from the outer husk of a coconut. The substrate is described as clean, without dirt or foreign substances, and reusable. Its fiber absorbs moisture while providing drainage, making it useful where bedding needs to retain water.

• Six bricks are included.
• Made from coconut husk fiber; each compressed brick is about 7.87 × 3.94 × 1.97 inches (20 × 10 × 5 cm).

Halatool coconut fiber substrate suits reptile and amphibian keepers who need moisture-holding bedding, as well as spider keepers, turtle keepers, and growers using coir. Its compressed six-brick format expands with water into reusable coconut fiber for habitat or growing use.
