Hudson Hound Dachshund Raincoat, Small Waterproof Windproof Dog Jacket

Hudson Hound’s Small Long Dog Dachshund Raincoat is a waterproof, windproof jacket designed to cover a dachshund’s long body without an overly wide cut.

• Long-body design for dogs with shorter legs — provides lengthwise coverage without excess width.
• Waterproof, windproof raincoat fabric — creates a barrier against wet and windy weather.
• Two hook-and-loop chest and belly straps — make it quick to put on and adjust for a close fit.
• Moisture-wicking mesh lining — helps keep your dog dry while allowing flexible movement.
• Harness leash opening with a weather flap — gives the leash access while adding coverage.

Rainy, windy conditions can make outings uncomfortable for dogs, particularly when a conventional coat’s shape does not suit a long body and shorter legs. This jacket is made for dachshunds and other long-bodied dogs, with a cut intended to extend coverage along the body rather than add unnecessary width. Its Small size designation gives you a clear starting point when choosing a coat for your dog.

How is the coat shaped for a dachshund?

It is designed around the proportions of long dogs with shorter legs. The cut extends coverage lengthwise without ending up too wide, addressing the difference between a long body and a shorter-legged frame. Hudson Hound identifies this version as Small.

• Made for long-bodied dogs, including dachshunds.
• Lengthwise coverage is the focus of the cut.

What protection does the raincoat provide?

The classic raincoat fabric is waterproof and windproof, giving your dog a barrier against wet and breezy conditions. That protection makes the jacket suited to weather when you want an outer layer for your dog. The design combines rain and wind protection in one coat.

• Waterproof fabric for rainy conditions.
• A wind barrier as part of the coat’s weather protection.

How do the straps and harness opening work?

Two hook-and-loop straps fasten across the chest and belly to make suiting up quick and create a form-fitting closure. For dogs wearing a harness, a leash opening provides access, and its weather flap adds coverage over the opening. This lets the coat work with a harness while retaining the flap over the access point.

• Two straps: one at the chest and one at the belly.
• A leash opening designed for harness-wearing dogs.

What is the lining like for movement?

The interior has a mesh lining with moisture-wicking performance. It is designed to help keep your dog dry, while the flexible lining allows movement for active dogs. The jacket therefore pairs weather protection on the outside with a lining intended for comfort in motion.

• Mesh interior lining.
• Flexible construction for movement.

This Small raincoat suits dachshunds and other long-bodied dogs whose owners want a weather barrier with harness access for outings in rain or wind. Its length-focused cut, adjustable hook-and-loop straps, mesh lining and covered leash opening bring the key fit and use details together in one jacket.
