Cold-weather walks and outdoor adventures can call for added warmth, particularly for dogs with short hair or no undercoat. The Hurtta Expedition Parka is made for these conditions while allowing active dogs to run and play. Its fit adjustments and size guidance help you choose a coat based on your dog’s measurements rather than relying on a breed label alone.

Which dogs is the Hurtta Expedition Parka designed for?

The coat is designed for all dogs, with particular benefit for short-haired dogs and dogs without an undercoat in cold conditions. It is intended for small and big adventures when additional warmth is needed, while its cut is designed to allow an extended range of motion. That makes the coat relevant for dogs that stay active outdoors, as well as those that need extra warmth in cold weather.

• Intended for use in cold conditions when additional warmth is needed.
• Designed to avoid restricting movement during running and play.

How should I choose the 14XL size?

Hurtta identifies 14XL as a size for small, bull-type dogs; use the size chart and “Measuring Your Dog” guide to check the fit for your individual dog. Back length is the most important measurement for dog apparel, so compare that measurement rather than guessing from breed or weight. The range includes basic sizes from 8–32 inches (20.32–81.28 cm), with additional sizes for specific builds.

• 16XS and 18XS are offered for Dachshunds.
• 12XL and 14XL are offered for small, bull-type dogs.

Can I adjust the coat, and does it improve visibility?

Yes. You can adjust the neckline, back length and collar circumference, and 3M reflective piping improves visibility in the dark. These details address fit and visibility while keeping the coat suited to movement; choose the size using your dog’s measurements, then use the adjustment points to refine its fit.

• Three fit areas adjust: neckline, back length and collar circumference.
• Reflective piping is included as part of the coat’s design.

The Hurtta Expedition Parka suits owners looking for a cold-weather coat for an active dog, especially a short-haired dog or one without an undercoat. The 14XL option is intended for small, bull-type dogs, with fit chosen by measurement and refined through the coat’s adjustable areas.
