hygger 18W Aquarium UV Internal Filter for 75.7–284 L Tanks, 300 GPH with Timer

The hygger 18W Aquarium UV Internal Filter combines filtration, oxygenation, green-water treatment and circulation for aquariums, with a maximum flow of 300 GPH.

• Four functions in one filter — filters water, adds oxygen, helps clear green water and circulates aquarium water.
• Designed for 20–75 gallon tanks — gives aquarium owners a filter suited to this stated tank-capacity range.
• Sponge filtration and a UV lamp — the sponge catches residue and impurities while UV light helps clear green water.
• Separate pump and UV controls with timer choices — run filtration without the UV light or select a lamp schedule.
• Two water outlets and two output styles — choose aeration or a rainfall-style spray-bar flow.
• Includes the filter, pump, UV light controller and installation accessories — supplies the listed components for setup.

Cloudy or green aquarium water can make it harder to enjoy a clear view of the tank. This internal filter brings several water-treatment functions together, with options for everyday circulation and oxygenation as well as a UV-light schedule for green-water conditions. It is made for freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

What does this aquarium filter do for tank water?

The hygger filter combines mechanical sponge filtration with a UV lamp and water movement to address several aquarium needs in one unit. Water passes through the sponge, which filters out residues and other impurities; the UV light is intended to help clear green water and maintain clear, transparent-looking water. The plastic shell and sponge are designed to limit UV light leakage around the lamp.

For cloudy or green water, clearing time can range from 3–8 days depending on tank size and water quality. During a heavy green-water problem, the recommended use is 24 hours a day for 3–5 consecutive days; for daily maintenance, the recommended UV operating time is 4 hours.

• 18W power supports the filter’s combined functions.
• Maximum water flow is 300 GPH.
• An observation window lets you check whether the UV light is working.

How can I choose the water flow and oxygenation mode?

The two outlets offer an aerating mode and a rainfall mode. In aerating mode, an air venturi and adjustable tubing add oxygen to the water. In rainfall mode, a spray bar spreads filtered water across the surface, creating gentle surface agitation and supporting circulation.

These options let you choose how the returning water moves through the aquarium. The aerating setup uses the air hose, while the rainfall setup uses the included shower pipe. Both modes support water movement; the aerating mode also uses the venturi to boost oxygen levels.

• Use the adjustable tubing to set the aerating arrangement.
• Use the spray bar for evenly dispersed rainfall-style flow.

Can I control the UV lamp separately?

Yes. The water pump and UV light have independent switches, so the pump can filter and circulate water while the UV lamp is switched off. The timer controller offers 4-, 8-, 12- and 24-hour lamp settings, allowing you to select a daily operating period.

This separate control is useful when you want filtration without UV operation. The timer choices also accommodate the recommended 4-hour daily maintenance period and the longer operating schedule suggested for heavy green-water conditions.

• Switch the UV light independently from the pump.
• Select from four timer settings: 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours.

What is included, and which aquariums is it made for?

The hygger aquarium filter is intended for 20–75 gallon aquariums and can be used in freshwater or saltwater setups. The package includes one filter with sponge, one pump with power cord, one UV light with timer controller, four suction cups with base, one rain shower pipe and one air hose.

The components provide the filter, its pump and UV control, plus the listed mounting and water-output accessories. Choose this model for a tank within its stated capacity range when you want sponge filtration, selectable UV operation, oxygenation and circulating water in one internal filter.

• Four suction cups with base are included for mounting.
• The air hose and rain shower pipe support the two outlet arrangements.

This filter best suits freshwater or saltwater aquarium keepers with a 20–75 gallon tank who want filtration, water movement, oxygenation and a separately controlled UV lamp in one unit. Its defined tank range and selectable aerating or rainfall output make it a fit for aquariums needing these combined functions.
